cali brake/light inspection

I need to get an official brake light and other lights inspection in order to get my salvage title. The DMV wont give me a listing, the rest of the internet is useless and my registration is expired now... sooo, anyone have an idea where I can go-as in shops or inspection stations? I tried looking in the yellow pages but could not find anything relevent... I live in Davis but can travel around if need be. If I had any idea how much trouble it was to get a salvage certificate, I woulda just kept the repair money and not salvage it... too late though. Thanks for any help.

CHP.. that usually takes an appointment, most repair shops will have the proper forums ... cost is about $35-50 iirc.
