Located in Austin, TX. Putting my 1989 Toyota Cresta (GX81) up for sale. This car was imported last year from Japan and I have been daily driving it since. It is right hand drive, automatic, with a 1G-GE inline 6 cylinder RWD (rear wheel drive). This car is in very good shape for the age and only has 95,xxx kilometers (about 60,000 miles). The interior is insanely nice especially considering the age. The car has super low miles and runs perfect. The body is in pretty good shape aside from a few spots. On the driver side front fender there is some dents/surface rust near the corner light, and on the passenger side front fender their is a large piece of paint that has flaked off. The body is pretty straight otherwise.
Asking $4500
VIN: GX816119907
The car comes with quite a few awesome quirky JDM features and features that are surprising for a 1989 model year car listed below.
Japanese road flare
Tilt and telescoping steering wheel
Retractable HVAC controls
Power door locks and windows (Driver side has auto window switch that rolls down with one click)
Power folding mirrors
Automatic headlights
Fiber optic front fender lights
TEMS (sport suspension)
Sport transmission setting
"High" speed warning chime
Plush armrest "pillow"
Technics factory sound system
Air purification system
Keyless entry
There are somethings on the car that the new owner will probably want to address.
A/C does not blow cold. I added freon to it and it blew cold for about a week, so there appears to be a leak somewhere.
Struts are toast. I was going to replace these, but I assumed the next owner will probably just want to do coilovers as I was planning on doing.
Brake rotors are a bit warped, so you get a bit of pulsing coming to a stop.
Aside from those things the car runs absolutely fantastic. I have done multiple 3-4 hour trips in it and have zero problems. The 1G-GE is literally one of the smoothest running engines I have ever driven. This car get a lot of attention and questions due to the RHD. If you are interested, I definitely recommend coming to check it out. I have a clean and clear Texas title for it. I even have the original key with protective plastic on it.
Another thing to note is that swaps are pretty easy in these chassis. 1JZ's and 2JZ's are pretty common. Vehicle is same or similar chassis to a Cressida, Mark II, and Chaser.
