Servers are terrible, however I am assuming that is going to get better over time.

Overall the game is great, and the whole concept of actually having to get out of the house to succeed is game-changing when it comes to a video game. Two days in, and I have already ran into people at the local park trying to catch them all.

Have been playing for a solid day, usually just hop on the fixie and go out searching. Got some eggs and some solid Pokémon. Hoping to take on a gym later today.

Great way for parents to bond with their kids, outside of home. My buddy is a single father and he has taken his kid around town, catching pokemons. I mean you really shouldn't need something like this to do stuff with your kid, but I can see how this can help.

Yeh Pokemon appear the most frequently while driving. 20mph streets its cool, but I wouldn't do it on main roads and highways.

Just gotta flick straight up, can throw curveballs too. Those are hard to land though

Use the curveball when you toss a Pokeball. increases capture chances and nets you some XP as well.

How the hell do you battle at the gyms? This game doesn't do a great job of briefing you, unless I missed it somewhere.

^click on the gym and then there should be a button in the bottom right corner. it gets super glitchy when there are a lot of people battling the gym at the same time, which might be your issue.

yeah pretty much, but i typically stay around stops so i can keep stocking up on pokeballs and shit.

if you get a couple friends with lure modules and find a couple stops fairly close together you can walk back and forth between the two and rack up a ton of pokemon in no time at all.

In case you guys do not know the game was created by Niantic a Google spin off and they have access to and collect as much or more data about you than Google itself. You don't believe check the fine print. It's there in writing that they can and do collect all your data. Which means if their servers get hacked your shit is for sale.

No thanks to Facebook and Google are already to invasive do not need to sign up to another product that is gonna data mine the fuck out of me, just for the sake of an obsessive game.

Glad im not the only one whos bothered by stuff like this lol I hate having notifications popped up everywhere. I always give my wife shit about it with her phone. Back on topic, im lucky enough to have a church right behind me thats a pokestop so its fairly easy to catch stuff on days with crappy weather. I have a good amount of high CP pokemon now and have spots on every gym on base. I cant wait for all the little bugs to get fixed though.

Its awesome to see so many people, young and old, hanging out and talking all sharing the same passion. Truly a game changed in the video game world and I cant wait to see how the app evolves.

Also, drop a lure at a pokestop along with the lucky egg at the same time. Then catch the common guys and evolve them. Your XP will climb like crazy.

yeah because when you transfer them to the professor you can the "candy" for that particular pokemon. You use that pokemon to power up or evolve them in the game. I.E. transfer bulbasaur's you build up bulbasaur candies

Those are still pokestops but someone dropped a lure on them which last 30mins. The lures is where you want to be to catch all kinds of pokemon. The lures are exactly what they are called, they lure pokemon to that spot.

Blue Incubators have a Usage counter after a certain amount of usages it will be gone, the orange is infinite so you'll have it forever. To my knowledge they both are the same things just different colors. Just one is unlimited and the other isn't.

Blue has a limited number of uses. The 'normal' one is infinite.

So you can only hatch one egg at time, Unless you buy or find blue incubators. Then you can hatch two at a time.

Yes, unless you can time dropping a lucky egg the moment your eggs hatch (very hard to do unless your eggs are synced and you constantly check their progress) go ahead and evolve a batch of pokemon, try to do at least 10 to make it worth it, the more the better.

It's funny because in the actual games Jolteon is a far better Eveelution based purely on it's superior speed and special attack, that's one thing that is really lacking about Pokemon Go to me, in the actual games building a team is all strategy, assembling types that can be versatile yet work together, where as Pokemon go is simply a game where if you have a big number above your head and can tap fast you'll win.

Plus 3 step glitch really ruined the fun part of the game in my opinion. Just going to play occasionally till a lot of the issues are resolved.

I don't approve of cheating and other stuff but if you are tired of getting pidgeys and rats, there's an app that uses niantic's own system that will tell you what pokemon are in the area and how long they will be there for. App is called PokeVision. I tried it once to confirm it and yep definitely works. Now you can get around the broken step glitch. I won't be using it but just throwing out there for you guys.

Highly doubt the team thing, its all based on location.

The Eevee trick works you just can't use it twice in a row. Got a Rainer, tried to get another since they're OP and ended up getting a Flareon

Thanks for the Evee tip. Just got me a 934cp Vaporeon with that one. Might be weak to some ppl, but it's the strongest in my level 13 collection.

This latest updated has got a lot of players mad. How do you just remove the footsteps all together? What a total cop out. By taking tracking out of the game, you take out the only part of this app that made it a game.

This game will die quickly if they don't retract the removal of the foot step tracking system.


How can you say, "Hey, we can figure out the tracking issue, so fuck it, just get rid of it!" as a game developer? Then at the same time you get all of the 3rd party trackers shut down because they are "ruining" what is essentially a broken game. Yes, that seems like a brilliant idea. While we're at it we can delete the battery save mode as well so you can no longer leave the phone in your pocket and get walks in to hatch your eggs without any buttons getting pressed.


Prime example of ruining something good because you have no idea what you are doing. Maybe Bungie was a co-developer with Niantic on this project? They are true professionals at pissing gamers off. #destinywassupposedtobecoolbutturnedoutlikeshittoo

Dont know if you guys know this but i found this out last night. So when you put a pokemon on a gym you can collect and receive 500 stardust and 10 pokecoins. Then every 24 hours you can collect for that again. WELL!!! a friend and i went to 3 gyms last night but didnt collect until the last one and we got 1500 stardust and 30 coins.

One of our lot kids has a blonde manbun with no facial hair. He normally wears skinny jeans and shoes that don't match anything that he's wearing. Its so far from over. Initial craziness from the game might have died down but its not over. Went to Hooters in Long Beach CA over the weekend and it was insane. Must have been thousands of people playing. Locals set up snack shops and sell drinks and candy. Other make and sell team hats and t-shirts. I saw a dude buy a power bank in the shape of a pokeball for $60 bucks.

Its not over. That guy you described is just a tool.
