Hey Guys,

Well, I broke the R200 diff launching at about 5000 RPM last night in my RB26 240SX, So, I don't plan on future attempts to probably launch over 3000-3500...

What do you all launch at?

Chris

depends... but on average 3 to 4k, lets you break out in a good portion of the torqe power ban for the ka ::edit, but you dont have a ka do you...:: lol

does your car still make that nasty rattle?

Maybe next time instead of launching at 5K, try slipping the clutch a bit. Starting at 3K might be too low for the rb. The KA is relatively torquey down low so that's why it's ok to dump it from pretty low rpm.

my advice is to buy a quaife diff and do whatever runs the best time :)

can you say: "warranteed under normal AND racing conditions"?

depends on what kind of tires you have.

Kumho 712s.... I dropped from 2500rpm and it spun the rears without wheel hop.

Bridgestone Potenzas S02s... I dropped from 3000 rpms and car shook like crazy... damn wheel hop! Can't wait to get my sub frame spacers tomorrow.

I hate you! <-- HATE! ALL OVER!

Nah...

I want an RB26 damn you to hell... Broke youre R200 Dif... What a bragger. :)

You might just want to get diff rear while youre at it... With all the power of a RB26T-TT? you dont need the 4.083... you should look at the 3.9 or 3.8...

7500 rpm on slicks. breaking tranny is a problem. I am now on my fifth trans. Doing a z32 trans for street and powerglide for the track.

13,000 RPM
I want to go higher cause it bogs but I have the factory bottom end, so I try and keep it under 15,000 rpm.

Slipping the clutch is the best way to get good times, and get the least damage.

Considering your setup this prob. doesnt help. But I always launched around 4k and sliipped the clutch on 195's.

i still have not been able to find a good description of slipping the clutch. the way i imagine doing it, you would heat the disc and flywheel extremly badly. but just dropping the clutch aint to good either. anyone want to give a decent explination?
