Hello my sr20 is currently running with a ka ecu and a ka maf. The guy i bought the car from said he had the ecu remapped to the ka maf to run it. I'm not sure why he did that but he did. I have a extra sr ecu that won't start car it cranks but that's it. I'm wondering if it because he doesn't have a z32 or sr maf on it?
If so is there a way to check if the ecu is even good with out buy a maf? If so is there anyway I could tune it. Possibly daughter boards?

hook up the ecu to the car, get a copy of nistune or nds download the bin/tune upload the tune somewhere share the file.
Open the ecu and take pictures front and back post pictures.
buy the stock mafs for your engine, and ecu, install ecu.
leave it alone if its working correctly.
yes you can install a daughter-board, you should still buy the correct parts for your engine.:2f2f:

KA24DE ECU or KA24E? The SOHC maf should work with a SR ECU. You may have a DOHC MAF.

Give us the number on the ECU and MAF so we know what you have. OR take pictures of it.

ALot of people use the SOHC KA maf for the #62 and E5 redtop computers, that is fine.

If you put the SR20 ECU in the car, you just need to get a SOHC MAF (40F00) or an SR20 MAF (52F00) because the 53F00 is a DOHC KA24DE MAF.

if you have an s13 redtop engine from 1989 to 1992, or an s13 blacktop engine from 1992-1998,

you can use either an 62, J4, or E5 ecu on that engine.

The 62 ecu and E5 ecu work with the S13 OEM redtop Maf sensor, and the SOHC KA maf sensor both equally. Use the harness for the correct ECU and it will run that engine, either engine.

The J4 is the oddball, in that it needs a repin to work, or the OEM J4 harness. You can google J4 to 62 pinout and find the repin I made in photoshop so many years ago, thus using any S13 sr20det OEM harness with any of these ECU.
