Is the 1JZ swap the same as a 2JZ? I am looking for some help for my upcoming swap and I noticed a really nice 2JZ forum but am unsure if most of it will apply to a 1J?

as far as bolting things up it will be pretty similar. the 2j is a taller motor however so expect hood clearence issues.


wiring and such is completely different. not much of an issue if going aftermarket ecu (which if doing this swap is a given anyway)

essentially yes. Wiring will be different, but mounting brackets ect will all be the same.
