Ok guys were all about the weight loss and everything and instead of everythign all spread out id like to have what everything weighs in one thread and one list which would be nice to reference too. Yea i know its been discussed before and yea i know theres plenty of threads on it. I just did some searching and yanked all the weights i could find to get this started. If i missed any please do the same so that we can have just one good thread with everything you need I dont have many on me but ill post a few i just found just to get it going. when you post a part weight please specify s13 or s14 (engine pieces sohc or dohc) se le base fastback coupe etc. no bs posts or wasteful posts just post good valid information to contribute to the forum. im at work so i cant post alot of things but this is what i came up with over about 1 hr of search time... if i missed anything good please post it:

nah, id like to not put in aftermarket weights in here that can usually be easily determined from when you buy it and are a totally seperate thing, please keep this to stock only parts. The goal i have for this thread is a clutter free straight to the point stock 240 parts database weight table. mods if this thread gets big and outta control plz trim all fatty posts :D weights posted im gonna try to edit into my original post as long as it lets me... lets go scale crazy people!! :hyper:

I've stripped so much out of my car. I really wished I had weighed it. Too bad I don't have a scale available to me. Hope others can help.

does it really matter how much those things weigh? the fact is that once you've taken out all that you can, that's all you can do. it weighs however much it weighs. So strip your car and be happy in knowing that your car is as light as you are able/willing to make it. but I guess if you wanna brag about how light your car is, you should probably know.

I don't think it's about bragging. It's more about consciously "knowing". Some people would like to know. If you don't know, you can't compare, and can't weight the pros and cons.

Now back to weighing shit!

I have a JDM 180SX hood... it is a little lighter than the 240SX one. Noticeably less reinforcement. Dunno exactly how much lighter though.

what do you mean, pros and cons? it's simple, lighter is better.

Pros and cons meaning weight savings to cost ratio. I say just strip all you can, but this is a nice resource anyways. :bigok:

This could be an informative thread. If half of zilvia didn't just postwhore and flame nowadays.

SOHC S13

AC Compressor + Bracket = 26 lbs
AC Condenser = 7 lbs
Miscellaneous lines/hoses/screws and the pressure switch from AC = 3.5 lbs

Every underhood AC part total=38.5 lbs

This doesn't include any of the AC crap under the dash, there is another 5-10 lbs in the other condenser and box.
