I'm looking for information on the 80mm RSR ExMag (quiet street muffler. Not the N1 style). Does anyone have information on how the muffler design is? Is it straight through like magnaflow or constructed differently?

it's nothing more then it is.
don't get illusions about jdm l337ness. it's a big piece of metal 80mm in diameter. people have made their own 80mm exhausts for less. as long as the piping isn't horribly bent i'd be surprised if it made a *huge* difference in performance.
this particular exhaust is great b/c its very quiet and stock looking. IMO thats what makes it attractive.

Yes, exactly. A custom exhaust can be made for cheaper, but the benefits of having the rsr is that it's quiet and stock looking.

Yup, got a custom 3" exhaust on my car right now and its way too loud for my taste. I plan on buyin a RSR ExMag sooner or later cause I like the sleeper look and I dont want a loud exhaust.

I have the rsr exmag on my ka-t. When it was n/a the mofo was pretty loud, but once I put it on the car with the turbo it was quieter than stock. Just couldn't believe how much of an improvement in quietness the exhaust sound was. It still has the deep sound, but quiet as hell on the streets. I scare people when I get full boost because the external wastegate is open dump. The exhaust system was about 600 shipped. If I had to do it all again, I wouldn't hesitate to buy this exhaust again. Just so much worth it around town and makes the car more of a sleeper.

Yeah it's retarded loud if you still have the N/A KA. It makes me want to get the swap done soon as possible now.

On my KA above 5 grand it gets pretty loud. But, I've stayed away from loud exhausts my whole life so what do I know.

Need to ask one more thing. Does the ExMag drone on the highway?

You might want to search the GB section for the last one. I bought mine about a month ago on the GB and it had been going on for a while. PM Mike and ask him if thier still doing it. It was like $538 shipped I think.
Need to ask one more thing. Does the ExMag drone on the highway? How do you mean? I have NA KA and its louder in the city than on the highway, but you can hear it.

When you are driving on the highway, does it sound noisy or is it quiet.
What rpm range does it get to when it get's loud. Some people are saying it's loud, but don't give information on what rpm they are at.

RSR Exmag with high flow cat. makes a good combo (On my sold S14)
Another quiet exhaust that I've heard and seen is the Blitz Realize TT, little bit more flashy then the RS-R but also a good one. (looking to get it soon with my new SR Swap) :yum:
