**SORRY ALL THE PHOTOS ARE GONE! I HAVE RE-SHELLED THIS FIRST CAR AND WORKING PICTURES ON THE 2ND AND 3RD PAGE!**

BETTER THAN THE FIRST :) please check it out if reading bores you XD

Thanks for viewing my thread! I will be posting pictures of my progress on here for anyone that would like to see :) Enjoy the pictures!

My car is a 1992 Nissan 240sx hatchback.

Here is a Picture of the Car when I got it back in March of 2015.

The fairly clean look on the outside drew me in... and with the bonus of a "running SR20DET" with useful mods it was a good buy.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG2732_zpsyrhelkfi.jpg

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG2741_zpsuohthmpx.jpg

switched over to Photobucket for images haha. It works but it is slow and filled with pop-ups

State of the engine bay... It had a nice and blue valve cover but it sucked up a bunch of water on the way to where the guy was meeting me and it caused it to die and struggled to star until we got all the water out of the inter cooler... Low mounted pod filters do not work with high puddles and rain very well. especially ones that have holes in them.

Here is a shot of the interior. This is pretty close to how it was when I got the car besides the S15 steering wheel and the shift knob which I changed these out pretty much right away because the stock steering wheel was all nasty and the shift nob was not to my taste. (I turned an old plaid shirt into a shift boot temporally)

I also added a drift button which was a quick and fun mod :)

One of my first modifications was a arcage style start button! I did this on my 350Z and was pretty happy with how it turned out. It also fit perfectly in the accessory power slot.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG1476_zpscbb05008.jpg

I then relocated the accessory power inside the center console storage.

I started gathering some major parts at the junk yard which included all of the rear trim (new seats, speaker covers, MDF covered carpeted rear side panels, various plastic trim pieces). I also took note and gather screws and tabs from many cars in the junk yard to get mine as close to stock as possible).

I also got a complete A/C system from a DOHC S13 which I would install with an adapter bracket on my SR20DET.

The 350Z shift knob was a step up from what the last owner put on my car but it was a hammy down from my 350Z and had lots of wear on it. I decided to get a Nismo aluminum shift know which I also run on my 350Z now.

+ a new genuine leather shift boot (aftermarket) very good quality! :)

New pedals!! My car was originally an auto which one of the last owners converted to manual I assume when the SR20DET was swapped in. as a result they did not switch the brake pedal out and simply cut it in half and it looked like junk. Not to mention that one of the rubber covers was missing too lol.

I managed to land a set of 350Z aluminum pedal covers which will fit with some modifications. with hours of work reshaping the accelerator metal arm to get the 350Z pedal at the right angle and height. I also had to grind down the clutch and brake pedal to mimic the shape of the 350Z. for the dead pedal I paid a nice forum user $40 and he made me one that was the same style and would fasten right up to my stock dead pedal! works great!

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG2916_zpsu7ginj6u.jpg

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG2921_zps1birg4fu.jpg

I spent a lot of time when grind the brake pedal down to get the spacing even for a natural heal tow feel. I have tested it and with a technique using the side of the ball of my foot I am able to smoothly brake and blip the throttle at the same time. definely not as natural feeling as my 350Z but I can get used to it :D

Alright! because I planned on getting genuine bride low max seats I wanted to give the rest of the interior a similar theme. I found some "Bride" fabric on eBay. At the time I did not realize that it might me knock off because the picture were very convincing along with the reviews. I am really against companies making money off other peoples ideas (and logos) but you live and you learn... Anyways! everything turned out really well except for the door cards which were beyond tricky for me.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG2944_zpsyuzq3meq.jpg

I used 3M super 90 spray adhesive. I worked well but it took some practice for sure.

Small piece of black suede to filling in the area the other fabric would to stretch into.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG2950_zpshuhg9qt9.jpg

Sorry for all of the purplely photos at the beginning of this build. This was due to my camera not taking pictures well in low lighting (I work mostly at night on my car because I am so busy during the day lol). Don't worry I fixed this later on. and I will give you guys better pictures of the overall result.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG2956_zps9m9oyzcq.jpg

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG2957_zpso3cdretv.jpg

Picture next to my 2006 350Z base, and 1996 Honda CBR 600F3.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG2966_zpsfhghz3lp.jpg

This is the part I had trouble with the most. I first tried to put the fabric directly on the door car which did not work as it put creases in it... I ended up making a mold out of dirt in a trash bag lol. then I inverted it and glued it in place. I will probably have another go at this in the future because It did not come out that well.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG2994_zps6k2p7ekz.jpg

I installed these with new power window switch bezels as my old ones had cracks. I also re-soldered the joints that were cracked in the little white box and fixed some sketchy wiring that one of the old owners did and magically the windows started working fine! lol

Here is a little sneak preview of my new digital climate control. (I just wired up the power for this picture only)

covered in suede and hole made for sunload sensor

other interior bits and bobs covered in suede.

Minor epoxy repair to a chipped edge on the Heads up display trim.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG3028_zpsfqwj4tut.jpg

Here is a better look at the climate control unit in the sunlight :)

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG3048_zpsealixhbm.jpg

Hooking up all the sensors and testing the motor.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG3049_zpslmcjg5mg.jpg

It works!! but it seems like it is always on dim mode and it is impossible to see in the daylight while driving. I will have to go back and check my wires again sometime... I noticed that it brightens up when I turn the car off and turn the key to pull it out. very strange behavior that I am still trying to understand to this day.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG3053_zpsgpucz4dt.jpg

Getting fresh gas as it has not been out for a while :)

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG3101_zpsy44tcwur.jpg

Key ring light! I got this off of a Nissan in the junk yard and modified my trim piece to fit.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG3106_zpsjypshfxo.jpg

Digital cluster is working! thank you superwowfactory!

Dash is getting some love :) filling in those cracks and sanding.

Cutting dash for Heads up display. I found a template online that was very helpful.

Heads up display wrapped in suede after the epoxy repair. Looks killer!

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG3121_zpsaw0g8qxh.jpg

All smooth and ready to be wrapped.

Type-X tail lights! One of my favorite things about S13 hatchbacks.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG3131_zpsnlxsrzy8.jpg

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG3140_zpsnwnrmhd3.jpg

Wrapping the dash turned out to be very difficult and time consuming. I worked on it on and off for a few weeks. I was not able to cover the whole thing with one piece so I had to decide where the best places to cut it would be. besides some very minor wrinkles and bubbles it looks much better than before.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG3145_zpsawoqfvak.jpg

Carpet comes out while I have the dash out :) I got the carpet from http://www.stockinteriors.com/

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG3153_zpswclicupd.jpg

I bought this cross brace from someone on Facebok which I planned to double up as a harness bar.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG3156_zpsqkz31cta.jpg

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG3163_zpsxzytbwgf.jpg

Cleaned up the cluster surround and found a few plugs for buttons I no longer needed.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG3167_zpsycvkhgby.jpg

I re-keyed all of my locks to match my key set that came with the Type-X Tail lights. This was pretty fun! I had to have a locksmith do my ignition because I could not figure out how to get it open lol.

New carpet installed in the rear!

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG3197_zpsoewhz5r9.jpg

Pioneer head unit I found on eBay for a really really good price!

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG3207_zpsorfsfrqq.jpg

By playing with the stock radio mounts I can get it sitting in place with very little gap around it. It looks perfect!

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG3209_zpsz7yzgksv.jpg

Some final cuts I made in my new carpet to finish installing everything back in place.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG3221_zpsfkfzqawg.jpg

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG3222_zpsnycgakgv.jpg

Swapped my gas cap door for one that was in better shape.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG3234_zpsnou5isxy.jpg

Time to start gathering the parts for the outside of the car! (the brakes squeaked very bad and did not work very well. the old bald tires did not help either). Something had to be done!

console looks great too!

For the satellite antenna right on top of the center vent ducting and it works perfectly :)

After wiring all my speakers up and locating a mic in the old automatic seat belt track for the hands free blue tooth the unit goes in! (I tested it with one of my favorite DVDs)

Unfortunately the pioneer using your predicted vehicle speed to disable the DVD (which is a good thing I guess except your passenger) I was able to disable this on my Clarion unit in my 350Z but the same did not apply to this one.

It was a big improvement from this!!

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG0024_zpsok6ez11t.jpg

I made some fresh speaker mounts out of MDF. The old ones look like the humidity had gotten to them.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG0035_zps3dcndfq1.jpg

I picked up a pair of cloth seats from the Junk Yard and cleaned at patched them up.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG0144_zps1qowxyfq.jpg

I then dyed them black with dupicolor's spray on dye. It made the fabric very stiff but that is ok because no one will be sitting back there anyways lol.

I then made inserts out of bride fabric and used 3M 90 spray adhesive to attach them.

Found a OEM Nissan strut bar that was a factory option for the 180sx thanks to Nismojunkyard.com. I have not seen too many of them for sale so I think it is pretty rare. It is very thick and very lightweight! I love how it looks in the bay!

After a long time looking I found a used Trust DD exhaust. It was in pretty sad shape but I cleaned it up best I could with the tools I had. One of the baffles is stuck in the exit pipe and I can't get it out haha. It is something I have always wanted though :)

New cobra down pipe with a flex pipe. The tubular manifold that come with my car cracked. I think it was because there was no flex joint and the mount to the transmission cross member was missing. I purchased a used Signal Auto tubular manifold which was thicker and stronger but moved my turbo back a little bit so I will need to shorted the cat. delete pipe I am using so the exhaust hangs correctly (no biggy)

The car will not idle with out giving it a little gas from a cold start if the ambient temp outside is not 100 degrees or more. I have check the Maf signal, CAS signal, TPS, check for intake leaks... ect. it is like starting my carbed motorcycle with no chock. I think maybe before I bought it when the previous owner sucked up the water It messed up the idle air control valve (I have already replaced the MAF). It sometimes only runs on one cylinder for a few seconds and sounds absolutely horrible lol. I will have to replace the idle air control valve one day and see if it fixes the problem.

it also dies when it is warm sometime right after I come off of the throttle and i put in the clutch, but only on occasion. I think this is due to the same problem.

anyways I was inspecting my intake pipes and decided to clean my throttle body! this improved the throttle response slightly :)

I have been looking for this Garage-S hood since before I have owned the car... It was so nice when Japan Parts Service sent me a message on Zilvia and said they had one in stock. It was very worn with two major defects but it was the only one I could find in the United States with just over two years of looking. Sadly UPS damaged it even more when they shipped it! it is in a pretty sad shape but I plan of fixing it up like new after I get all the body parts I want.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG0523_zpsranklrhi.jpg

It is extremely light dude to the carbon fiber construction but very flimsy due to the structural damage that it has.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG0525_zps96r2pouh.jpg

The previous owner in japan probably cut this hole for a Greddy intake.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG0526_zps4x6mipuf.jpg

The bracing structure underneath which is fiberglass needs to be re-bonded to the hood itself

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG0529_zpsqrv4wn0n.jpg

it has various cracks around that need to be reinforced with carbon fiber or fiberglass underneath. I will do fiberglass since I am planning on painting it black anyways.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG0537_zpsoh7twls2.jpg

Got a slide hammer, sledge hammer, and 4x4 and pulled out and leveled the core support. Now it straight again and will look normal when painted.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG0572_zps18rqmnd7.jpg

I am not sure why this rectangular hole was cut and then patched with fiberglass but it changed the couture of the hood which should match the shape of the valve cover underneath on the SR20. due to the thickness of the fiberglass and the altered shape it was making contact with the valve cover and bowing the hood up at that point changing how it lined up. This area will need to be completely reworked to get the old shape and clearance with the valve cover back.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG0742_zpsnsamhom3.jpg

My old bold tire with a slow leak rode on its side wall and completely ripped it all the way around. luckily I was only going about 30mph when this happened. My S13 was going on strike and demanded that fresh rubber be put on! sadly I would not be able to drive it for about 2 months while I saved up for the rest of the parts needed for what I wanted to do.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG0743_zpsdma1xzfn.jpg

I removed the tint all around so the black parts on the rear quarter glasses would show (I love this look). You can also see the nice interior from the back now :) It does get hot in Texas but I keep it in the garage most of the time so It is not too big of a deal.

Maverick Motorsports duel caliper brackets. I found out the hard way you need to start the bottom bolt that holds on the second caliper before you finish tightening the four bolts that hold the bracket on... otherwise it will not clear the knuckle.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG0839_zpshy6ghzky.jpg

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG0843_zpszi8zr3kn.jpg

At this point I just put the wheel on as a preview because I could not figure out how to fully attach the second caliper lol.

Well excuuuuuuuse me!!!

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG0853_zpshbh98igj.jpg

sad day! when I started my car the speedo when crazy and looked like this. I did not catch it on camera but it looked like cracks ran across the bottom and it glew very brightly. now the bottom of the display is burned out :'( not sure what caused this. the red lines sometimes come back on start up but go away shortly after. I will try to fix this but not for a while as I am not sure what the problem is. I might just replace it and break another one.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG0863_zpsbj13hhds.jpg

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG0865_zpsmq4ztlhj.jpg

I made a custom hand brake out of a $30.00 sword. I used a Wilwood master cylinder and a PBM bracket.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG0899_zpscamsgyjo.jpg

I then welded up a bracket to mount it without having to cut any interior pieces.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG0906_zpsh5hithwa.jpg

after much trial and error I found the perfect spot for it!

I added in an extra bolt to help spread the load and not bend the sheet metal on my transmission tunnel. The long L shape bracket also spreads the load pretty well. (this made a big difference but there is still room for improvement with my design so I will revisit it again! but for now it works. I will add another side support in the future.

http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k471/charlesbabin1/IMAG0973_zpsvk9tpbvn.jpg

Small reinforcement plate underneath to spared the load of the bolt.

Nismo coppermix clutch, pressure plate, and an S15 autech flywheel (I think). I got this in a deal with a S15 six speed transmission and an aluminum driveshaft I can shorten to fit my car. I could not turn down the deal for $300! I just have to buy an S15 trans. cross member and possibly a different clutch set up that is sprung.

I also need to somehow transfer over my speed senor gear.

NISMO coppermix is one of the best clutches I've had. Even though its unsprung, it was still super easy on the left leg, and held fine for 280whp. I ran it for a number of years until I got a carbonetics carbon disc clutch.

Hey guys, It has been a while since anything has been done to the car! :(
Good news! I was able to find a cleaner chassis which was an original black car and original 5sp with is cool :) I will be reshelling everything to the "new car" in the next month and making a new hand brake bracket that does not flex while the carpet is out.

right now the car is all stock besides upgraded speakers and headunit. It looks like it has had an alarm in it at some point before which has been taken out aswell.

This chassis has working pop up headlights, no frame damage, and no rust. the suspension in the front is also not damaged so for me it was nice to start from a better platform. The other car was super good to learn on and it is time to make a better one!

I plan on transferring everything over except the engine, and coilovers. the Megan coil overs get the job done it you want to drive and lower and raise your car as you please, but they where harsh on the street. I will be buying a set of KW coilovers as soon as I sell the parts car :)

I will also not be taking the SR20DET which had low compression (about 120). I will be swapping in a fresh one that is all factory which should make my life a lot easier and make the car stronger and more reliable.

After the engine I will finish off the body and buy a Cusco roll cage and some nice Defi gauges and a trust boost controller to finish it off :) should take longer than I thought originally but I am more excited than ever to make this car awesome!!

Got some more welding done after much test fitting and measuring. I took the dash in and out about 5 times along with the seat a few times to make sure I was putting the master cylinder in just the right spot. Compared to where it was before it is more out of the way of my right leg because of the angle and should be slightly tighter fitting to the dash.

cut some small steel pipe and painted it black to make some spacers.

I also got new black hardware for my handbrake set up to make it look better.

https://s27.postimg.org/gixwbf5c3/IMAG1797.jpg

had to modify the metal frame that the glove box mounts to. It was not clearing the cool box sticking out of the back lol.

https://s4.postimg.org/53hgftbbx/IMAG1788.jpg

cool box fits snug! mine did not come with insulation foam on the right side of it and it may have been an advantage to getting it t fit. I know it comes off of most of them for some reason.

I also took a hair dryer and just slightly bent out the outer lips of the glove box so it clears the coolbox door when it opens for smooth operation. A few pieces of tape over the magnet can also help it open easier.

https://s8.postimg.org/4e66b3cf9/IMAG1733.jpg

out comes the cluster again for repairs. I managed to salvage the digital speedo off another broken cluster to make one good one again XD

I plan on replacing where the harness plugs into the speedo unit to because it has something wrong with the pins and it makes it flicker from time to time. took me a year to discover which component was causing this... lol >.> pretty involved with soldering!

cutting out the fenders. I learned a few things from the last time I did this and I went about it a little differently.

I first made a cardboard template of the shape of the factory wheel arch shape. then I moved it up about two inches just bellow the body line the runs the length of the car. I wanted to leave the body line untouched because the crease in the metal provides it strength.

I then traced a line with sharpy and highlighted it with tape to make it easier to see when cutting with the angle grinder.
for the inner layer I just tore off the outer layer from it with pliers and hammered it out after making relief cuts. welded, seam sealer, undercoat, primer, paint.

and the part sticking out may provide support for my over fenders I'm thinking.

I noticed my old car was making a horrible racket from the exhaust! I thought it had a leak at one of the gaskets maybe... after taking a look under the car I realized that my Trust DD resonator had enough!!!

https://s10.postimg.org/ijadn1s8p/IMAG2102.jpg

It was time to restore my exhaust again but this time I would do it properly! :)

https://s8.postimg.org/k4hc33gxh/IMAG2101.jpg

Opening up the hole reviled that the resonator Had an inner skin, a layer of thin fiberglass, and an outer skin.

https://s9.postimg.org/mhgriphlr/IMAG2104.jpg

Inner skin welded up first. I worked very very slowly as it was super thin metal and the more holes I blew in it ment more time patching it up lol.

https://s13.postimg.org/spla1fm53/IMAG2105.jpg

I used some fiberglass exhaust wrap I had laying around to replace the insulating layer.

I spent so much time taking in and out the dash and seat while welding the bracket to get the position, angle, height.... everything just like I wanted :)
I also wanted it too not take up too much space so there was not a big hole cut in the carpet. I am very pleased with how it came out. I tested it many times and with a two pump technique I am able to lock up the tires pretty easy entering a corner at 15+ mph. anything slower or in a slight line it just slows the car down lol. pretty fun to play with and learn how to use!!

https://s17.postimg.org/fllldrtz3/IMAG2209.jpg

A little more work on my digital cluster as I got a good deal on two more parts clusters. I ended up swapping mine for one of the parts clusters because it was working well and did not have the flickering problem my current one had. It was so annoying when driving at night!! probably a bent pin or something.

https://s18.postimg.org/8scu02mjt/IMAG2230.jpg

If anyone ever needs one of these worked on I can change parts around no problem and I have lots of spare parts now so hit me up! lol

https://s22.postimg.org/7wsf6sbgh/IMAG2218.jpg

Learned a thing or two last time I installed these 350Z pedals on my car so I figured I would share my refined process for anyone interested!
It is pretty basic, just cut some thin cardboard with even spacing as shown on the back of the cover, trace, and cut.

https://s24.postimg.org/r09uagn4l/IMAG2234.jpg

As you can see the Z33 pedal is taller and skinner than the S13 one. not to worry! just take your time making the template perfect as shown and it fits nice and tight and will not move on you!

https://s30.postimg.org/y9hrt58qp/IMAG2235.jpg

I took this picture to very clearly show the spacing you want when you make your template. (notice how much of the top and bottom half circle are showing).

https://s21.postimg.org/abwiu829z/IMAG2238.jpg

https://s7.postimg.org/6v07b9ufv/IMAG2239.jpg

https://s10.postimg.org/exjq1xzqx/IMAG2241.jpg

I will say again I had the dead pedal custom made and it bolts right up to my OEM dead pedal to match the 350Z look. For the throttle pedal I just modified the hell out of the OEM rod to get the perfect spacing, angle and height using my 350Z as a model.

I know you guys like shots of my interior! lol sorry these were at night but It was one of the first times I had the inside pretty much complete on the new car.

https://s4.postimg.org/kxap42ry5/IMAG2262.jpg

https://s16.postimg.org/58tnotcqt/IMAG2263.jpg

S13 VSS Drive gear was bored out by hand from 25.0mm inside diameter to 27.9mm using a round file. The steel ball that keeps the drive gear rotating interdependently from the shaft sticks out 5.1mm when installed in its hole. I used a small green rotary tool bit to make the half circle in the drive gear deeper to fit the ball. I then used two a 1-1/18 inch external snap rings to secure the drive gear from moving up or down. to do this I had to take off a mil or two off the top and bottom inside portion of the gear and notching out a place for the ends. It fits well and the S13 VSS installs smoothly and seems to spin nicely when I spun the output shaft when it was all back together. I know people have talked about doing this but I might e the first S13 guy to try it lol! If you are interested in any more details/ methods/ tools just let me know and I can help.

Old shell had frame damage on the passenger side which caused the door to not shut properly. There were also a million other little things about the car that bothered me. I wanted an original black car that I could do my own swap on in the end.

More pictures coming soon! I got my engine out and did some other cool things that I would like to share including integrated windshield sprayers on the wipers like the 350Z and some G35s have! Now I can still use them but don't have to drill holes and mount them on my aftermarket hood.

Eoken
07-31-2017, 12:44 AM
I took some wipers off of a G35 in the junk yard and cut out the sprayer mounting points on the wiper arms and welded them to my S13 wiper arms. I want the function to still be available without mounting sprayers to my hood so this is what I came up with. Enjoy!

https://s2.postimg.org/y1mphi2l5/IMAG2604.jpg

https://s2.postimg.org/furyh7wjt/IMAG2607.jpg

the driver side has one mounted on the bottom and the passanger side has one on top and on the bottom. This design is on some G35 models and all 350Z models as far as I know of.

https://s2.postimg.org/89emz5r2x/IMAG2609.jpg

the distance from one wall to the other was shorter so I just took a very very small amount off the end of each hose and it fit perfectly.

https://s2.postimg.org/ixx9yc0w9/IMAG2610.jpg

to make this work I had to cut out a little notch in the S13 wiper arm and cut out the part of the wiper arm that held the sprayer in place and combined the two. because the S13 wiper arm is so shallow this ment the sprayer had to hang down slightly below where the normal frame ended. at first I thought this would look funny even though it was the only way to do it. I think it turned out pretty nice end the end after paint.

it is time to do my first engine swap! I installed togue factory heat core hoses and a wiring specialties OEM series upper engine harness to make my live easy. I also painted and install a new set of cody ace brackets for the AC (tho old ones went with the other car when I sold it).

https://s4.postimg.org/6nbptyzd9/IMAG2728.jpg[/url]

I am not sure if it was because the bell housing of the S15 six speed transmission is a little thicker at the front or because I did not loosen the top engine mount nuts but I had to drop the subframe down as far as I could get it to get the engine slotted into place.

The end result! I just have a few things to button up like replacing the fuel pump, exhaust bracket for the downpipe, waste gate line, air filter bracket to keep it out of trouble, and a plug for oem intake pipe where the resurrecting valve would feed into. But other than that the swap is complete :)

AND NOW FOR SOME NEWS!
the 6 speed was messed up... I found this out when I tried to back it out of my driveway last week. 5th and revere would act like neutral when I let out the clutch (the nismo copper mix clutch does feel really amazing too). I figured it was a problem with the selector fork since both 5th and reverse use the same selector fork.

anyways I have read online that if you have this engine and transmission set up in a S13 you must remove the engine in order to take the gear box off. I was a bit depressed but I found another 6 speed 3 hours away and bought it for $300 and had a second go.

I was able to use the knowledge I picked up from installing the engine and dropped the sub frame down as far was it would go. Next I loosened the bottom engine mount nuts all the way off to allow them to freely move how they wanted. I then got a long wooden board and a jack and jacked up the front of the engine from the oil pan. I jacked it up until the engine fan touched the top of the fan shroud (maybe about 2 or 3 inches). This was in fact enough to get access to the bolts and remove the gearbox.

After about 12 hours of work yesterday I had the old one out and the new one in. It works really well and the gear ratios are really awesome! It is better than I imagined.
the only downside was the output shaft did not have the same machining as the old one despite having the rear casting with plug in it. kind of a let down but I am planning on using a Dakota digital box and use the S15 abs sensor in the dif to get a speed signal I can use. I have no experience with this and would love some advice here!

To start with here is a sample shot of what the G35 or 350Z wiper arm will look like that you get from a local salvage yard. I got both of mine with the hose and nozzles for $9.00

https://s1.postimg.org/mzi9d3n5r/IMAG2544.jpg

here is a shot showing the side of the nozzles and how the clips fit into and hold it onto the metal.

https://s2.postimg.org/5kic0e155/IMAG2545.jpg

here shows the area that I cut out of the G35 wiper arm and the section cut out of the S13 arm to fit it in. you can see one corner is trimmed off so it does not show that much when the nozzle is clipped into place. You can't trim it all the way down or the metal will become too week.

https://s1.postimg.org/e8oauud0v/IMAG2546.jpg

all welded up! you want to do this in sections because you will risk warming and bowing the whole wiper arm if you put too much heat into it. I ended up having to go back and fill in some more spots I missed after grinding it down and inspecting it.

Made more progress test fitting my S13 bolt in Cusco roll cage with the interior still in the car. Still not bolted in yet but it is sitting in its proper place now. I used an extra panel I had and drilled a 3 - 3 1/2 hole in it to see where exactly to cut my holes in the permanent panels.

https://s1.postimg.org/4m5akzp1jj/20171006_025531.jpg

Working at 3AM in Texas has it's advantages... lol. Not only is it cool outside but I was able to free hand some guide lines in the dew That was settling. I went off the curves of the plastic panel to get the perfect placement for my holes!

https://s1.postimg.org/9r7s0f8o7z/20171006_033527.jpg

The straight cuts were made with a hacksaw to flex the plastic panel around the bar of the cage. they are covered up completely by the rear seat. This makes assembly much easier and more of a flexible process (the order in which you assemble stuff does not matter as much.

Drilled holes and mounted my G-Corp wing today! I found some plugs out of an infinity G20 trunk. I used a very large washer and a standard Nissan 10mm bolt with blue loctite on it to secure the wing. For the measurements I used some that I found on drift works and did about 20mm from the back of the hatch and 30mm from the wi Dow and 60mm on either side left and right.
