IIRC Zenki Almost always means First, and Kouki is the last or newest. Chouki (sp) is in between. I know S4 RX7s are called Zenkis and S5 RX7s are called Koukis. Same with 86s IIRC

ditto ^
it distinguishes between different "face-lifts" of the same version of a car model. I believe its a form of spoken Japanese.
If you look at a single model of car: say the s14 240sx. You will notice that the same car had a significant "face-lift" but its the same car. the '95-'96 versions are the "FIRST" or "ZENKI" s14's while the '97-'98 are the "FINAL" or "KOUKI" s14's.
Same for any other car.
Domestics don't use that terminology, obviously, but its all the same thing. You can look at the Pontiac Sunfire and see three significant changes to the car. So, imports would call that the "ZENKI" for the first face, the "CHUKI" for the second version, and the final version would be "KOUKI".

yeah it that is generally what it means...zenki being before Chuki meaning middle or in between and kouki meaning after.......they use it to specify the modles of the same car. like for instance say in 96 when the face changed they used Zenki as the 1st model and kouki as the after chuki is used for 180sx.
