1990 S13poop coupe Pt. II

I had my last build on the premium thread so I thought i'd keep track of it here from now on.

Here is my last car I sold almost 8 years ago and regretted it every day :picardfp:

I Bought my new 240 11/3/2015 with 220,XXX on the odo, Original KA24E
the car was fairly stock other than it being dumped on KTS coils which were blown :ugh:

Car came with a decent paint job in its original color paint code 526 "Hot Red", but had a good amount of oxidation on the paint which I had to correct

This is my second coupe that I will be restoring and making to my liking

Car came with cracked dash and some interior pieces missing so I found a new center console/head unit and got some version select floor mats to spruce things up

I ended up getting tired of the 20 something year old seats and got a great deal on some recaro's from my buddy John (CrimsonRockett)

the seats specifically are Recaro SRD Confetti pattern (Driver) and ITR seat with s13 seat rails.

After trolling the marketplace for quite a while I found a 330MM Personal Grinta in great condition. I Accompanied this with a splash hub from FRS sport

Things interior wise were looking better but the cracks on the dash kept bothering me

so my friends (Vatche/John) at corner 3 Motorsport helped me out by getting me a coverlay for my dash which was a great investment

After tackling all that interior stuff I ordered a set of Fortune Auto 500's 7K/6K to relieve the blown KTS coils


Then I noticed the previous owner had replaced worn bushings with electrical tape lol

Also found a great set of VS-XX on the zilvia wheel classifieds with so so offsets 17x9 +35 F +47 R but after coilover install and 25mm spacers all around this is how she sits

Didn't know it was so hard finding a pignose lip but after more market place trolling I found it

I got it from the marketplace on Zilvia. Luckily rawgarage (he posted on this thread earlier) was selling one brand new PM him maybe he has a good source

FRsport.com still gets them from time to time you can also check there as well

As far as the seats the head room is ok I'm 5'10 and have room but I would invest in some lower seat rails in the future. I'm pretty sure If I ever decide to wear a helmet in the car there would be some clearance issues..

Big thanks to JP at JV Autobody Santa Ana for taking care of my coupe. I knew that getting my car sprayed by a fellow S chassis enthusiast was the right decision!

*Summer 17 updates*

Was able to finally source some oem silvia skirts and panda garage oem style rear valances for the coupe, the Facebook 240 classifieds answers my prayers once again!

After this photo was taken I was hell bent on finding an oem style silvia Q's optional lip which was the hardest thing to do.

My goal with my new look was to stray away from the common "bricks and Aero bumper combo"

After asking around turns out a friend of mine just had one collecting dust the whole time -__-

I went with a Nissan KH2 R32 two tone colorway, drawing inspiration from the S12 and the R30 both had gunmetal and hot red color ways

Silvia front and two tone go together like PB&J, I've been seeing a serious influx of Silvia parts for cheap on the FB classifieds. You should try piecing one together the deals are out there!

Picked up an s14 dual cam motor (currently have 224k on my single cam)

Picked up the car from my painter today and I’m amazed on how much of a difference this bumper makes!

Gonna start focusing on finishing up my Z brakes and further fine tuning my suspension before I tackle the motor.

I Gathered most of my Z brake swap parts and noticed how slim the market was for rotors that were drilled for 4 & 5 lug wheels.

Put a lot of thought into just going 5 lug and went down a rabbit hole of various options.

I really wanted to change the wheels but I wanted to find something special that was rarely seen on an s chassis, I remembered how much I loved kids heart when I first got into s13’s and remembered they once made wheels. I hit up a couple of local distributors but came up with no luck until I got a text that a private seller was willing to let his go BNIB. So long story short I bought them and embarked on another headache to convert my car over to 5 lug :hs:

I have 5 lug hubs on the way now I just need to get rotors and wrap the wheels in some new rubber.

I was kind of amazed that my old 4 Lug VS-XX sold in a matter of 40min after posting

Yeah the Gloss black is definitely a change from the contrasted wheels with Polish lip but I'm ready for a change and was kinda inspired from the red Nismo GT500 cars

As far a the KA I decided to buy a dual cam since I have a single cam in the car right now and opted to go KA-T over SR because I would be able to go back to stock if I get popped. I really want to run a full Tomei KA-T setup which in my opinion looks great!

SR's in California are definitely a gamble and don't want to drive my car around constantly looking over my shoulder :ugh: haha

Yeah I had chances to buy a compete Sr motorset for a really good price, you’re right it’s probably easy to plug and play but I think the KA will suit my needs in the end.

Was finally able to collect all my z brake parts so I decided to install everything and go 5 lug at the same time.

Luckily this process wasn’t so painful thanks to the help of my friends.

I ended up going with following parts to make all this happen

-Ichiba 5 lug conversion
-Z32 26mm Aluminium calipers painted Brembo gold
-Diftech SS lines (front)
-STOPTech street performance pads (front)
-STOPTech 26mm rotors (front)
-STOPTech S14 rotors (rear)

Wheels/tires
-Kids heart 17x9.5 +15 all around
-Federal SS595 235/40/17

I completely agree! I didn't want to dump all my money into rebuilding the VS so I thought this set up made more sense.

I'm still on the fence in regards to running a bomex lip and more aggressive skirts but I'm going to try and hold off on any more exterior for a bit :hs:

Cosmis wheels is definitely a rep company most their wheels resemble WORK/Rays wheels alike. I believe the Kids Heart wheels are loosely based from the R32 GT-R

I don't wanna threadjack, but for both mine and OP's sake, how fucked does it make your gearing? I'm assuming it makes 3rd much more versatile when drifting, but what about highway cruising in 5th? Also running a KA-T with stock gearbox.

Well it's hard to say what the highway speeds are with the 4.6 are because my speedo isn't calibrated. I'll use the GPS in my phone to come back with some ideas but it feels like it cruises fine so far?

I had a friend that does paintwork paint them Brembo gold and just sanded the letters to expose the silver beneath.

Thanks for the kind words about the wheels as well, it was hard to part ways with them but I’m happy with the new setup! Never thought gloss black wheels could totally change the look of the car this much.

nothing too interesting but i finally got rid of my stock exhaust because the piping to the muffler decided to rust through :hs:

so I pulled the trigger on an HKS sport exhaust
