I am going to change my own oil but I have never done it on the 240sx before. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the location of the factory oil filter on a KA. Any other tips would be appreciated as well. Thanks in advance.
its located under the intake manifold on the passenger side of the car..

Is it that hard to pop the hood and look for the oil filter? God damn....people needs to be spoonfed with everything nowadays? Do you need us to show you where the gas tank lid is too? If you dont know, its located at the rear quarter panel on the right.

FSM (Factory Service Manual)
Chiltons.
User Manual.
Eyes.
All of which will answer your question. If you're not skilled enough to locate an oil filter, you should be taking your car to get serviced by a professional.

just look...its really not hard. and then use a filter wrench or stab it with a screwdriver and hope it doesnt rip through (after draining the oil from the pan which is on the BOTTOM of the engine). then put the plug back in, add some oil to the filter, install it, add more oil and drive around like a badass

Don't forget to put the old filter under your pillow. The Fossil Fuel Fairy will leave you a quarter. w00t!

wow. I can't believe this is actually being asked. Now I'll just wait to see someone ask if Z32 wheels will clear their Z brakes. then i've seen it all.

But hold up...do you think he will even know what the filter would look like even if he does stumble across it in the bay? Somebody should post a pic for him and help him out.

I say all of you give him a break.....Yeah he could have looked but if your not familiar with a KA you can miss the oil filter.....He just wants to learn something and you guys bash him.....I really hate this higher than mighty bullshit......Just because all of you can install parts and engines doesnt make you better than anyone else, And if you say oh well he could have searched, Seriously has this topic been posted?
Im not bashing you guys, im just trying to get all of you to remeber you were all worthless no skilled little shits at one time in your life.....

Yes, but he also admitted to just being lazy. So therefore all the "bashing" was well deserved. It's just Zilvia Love. He's not upset at anybody, we're not trying to have him banned or run him off from ever posting again. It was all in good fun.

I reccomend not using a strap wrench as it can short out on the starter if done improperly.
