I am a car newbie. Literally, I know very little when it comes to cars.

I have a 180sx with a SR20DET and a T25 turbo, but I recently bought a T28 turbo. The turbo doesn't work well anymore since it ran without a BOV and you can hear a lot of compression surge. (not my fault, I only drove the car for 3 weeks)

Do I only have to change the oil lines that go to the turbo? I heard that I had to remap the ECU when I would switch from turbo's. And is there anything I need to be aware of when changing the turbo's?

Thanks guys

Should probably get a retune and bigger injectors
Also do a boost leak test (google it) the turbo may not be the problem.

If you keep the boost low it'll be fine with no ecu tune or injectors

bold is BS. You don't kill a T28 turbo like that. Unless you are mistaking the wastegate actuator and a BOV.

First thing to do is to find WHY the turbo died (and if it is not something else), otherwise your new turbo will die the same way.
