How is this done properly? I don't want to damage the trim. I am repainting and want to insure that I can get the paint under the trim. I have the trim around the doors out already. Need help with the windows behind the doors and the front and rear windows. TIA

i think you mask it off. if you want it removed you have to take it to a window shop. i think i heard somewhere that they will only replace trim if you put in a new window. not sure.

Very easy. Heat it up with a hair dryer, then slide a stiff piece of wire underneath it. The wire will hold it up off the body and allow you to sand and paint up the the edge, after the paints dries pull the wire out.

So the front and rear just snaps out. $40 if I need new ones after that. Thats fine. What about the sides? It seems to be part of the window.

Did you even read the above post?

The quarter window moulding is part of the window and is not available separately. Use a stiff wire to lift it off the body. The only way to replace it new is to buy a new window.

Rear window moulding snaps out and is about $20, windshield moulding will snap out but the bottom retainer can be damaged or may already be damaged, it's about $80 new for both pieces.

Nissan wants about 28 for the rear window and 160 ish for the front window. I hear I can get a universal trim pieces as well. Anybody have any experiance with these for the front and rear?

The wording in that post is misleading. You can remove the moulding, but only if the glass comes out too. Then you'll need to reseal it to the car. I've removed five quarter windows before and two broke before coming out, one has been previously removed and the inside moulding was ruined and had let water in around the edges, rusting out the body, the other two came out fine but the moulding tore in a few places. It's your call.

The windshield can be fitted with universal moulding, but you'll need to get a much nicer (expensive) type that will contour to the corners.

Ok, thanks. Can you give me a ballpark price on this "nicer more expensive stuff"

i was wondering about the driver's/passenger's window trims. Those are not attached to the window's (duh) but how do i remove them? they seem very intent on stayin on the car

One screw at the back edge, then clips.

Universal trim will run about $60-80.

Ive been looking everywhere for rear and front windshield trims for my coupe...

Does anyone know where i could get some for cheap?

If i plan to replace both the front and rear do i need to remove the glass to do so?

You must not have tried the dealer.
