got a bunch of stuff in yesterday. Car is going to bodyshop all next week for JDM aero and paint. After that, complete Z32 brake upgrade, with custom plated and drilled rotors from Powertrix. (I also have the ebrake stuff but its dirty, so no pics). All calipers are rebuilt and aluminum, and they'll be painted silver to match the faces of my Nismo LM GT4's. All lighting except corner lights and grill are genuine OEM Nissan Japan.

This is an exciting time, and I figured I'd share these pics. In the near future, I'll be launching a site dedicated to promoting my car and the motorsports I will become involved in. Enjoy...

Don't you need to run a new E-brake like to use the Z32 rear brakes?

did you get the rear calipers from powertrix as well?

It looks good sitting there, but after the pads wear the black off I have a feeling it'll look weird.
But, whatever you like; It looks like you're on track for a good looking car.

whats up with black rotors and doesnt that shit come off when you brake??

outstanding collection of stuff there, get it installed ASAP.

..it's black zinc. it'll rub off the contact areas as soon as he stops once or twice.

If you don't have ABS, you'll probably want to pick up a master cylinder to go with those calipers.

i got the same rotors from cpowertrix. Just like sykikchimp said once u stop once or twice the contact area becomes silver again, leaving the hub area/outer rim/and each dimple black and it also prevents rust in those area's.

Whats up everyone. Thanks for all of the great comments.

I do have a 1 1/16" M/C on its way.

The black zinc coating with rub off leaving the "two tone" look that resembles a 2 piece rotor. The hat, edges and insides of the holes will all stay black and prevent rust.

The ebrake assemblies have the cable coming off of them, which needs to be secured to the body of the car, then "spliced" together with the 240sx cable.

I've posted lots of pics of my car, and other parts I have going on before, check out pic threads I've done in the past:

honestly, black rotors = bad idea

will look like shit when you use your brakes, turn the black to silver and make em look really dirty cuz parts silver n parts black now

imo of course

what does it matter? everything gets dirty anyway, and i think the black looks nice.

"black 'n grind"
best color/ finish combination ever, IMO.

I like it better than the gold color cad plating that wears off eventually, leaving it a splotched gold and silver. My rotors look like that and I hate it.

you guys are worried about rotor color? if thats the case, just paint the part that touches the hub.. but whatever, i guess some people are into those details..

anyway, everything looks fine except for the headlamps -- absolutely no point in using RHD halogen-spec headlamps in a country that uses LHD lighting. USDM and JDM are both glass, only difference is projector size and even then, no performance benefits.

I was waiting for you (or another lighting pattern "freak") to reply.

How's this. I think these headlights look incomparably better than the USDM 240sx counterparts. The dual housing, and larger projector size and projector placement all combine to create a distinctly different look for the headlight, that I favor. I dont care about glass vs. plastic, or anything else.

We all make compromises with our street cars. My suspension and drivetrain are no where near suitable for Pennsylvania roads, but I run them because I want my car to handle and drive a certain way. JDM headlights are in no way suitable for LHD traffic, but I run them for the sentimental advantage of having my car look the way I want it to. If I could pay someone to adjust the low beam projectors so that they point the right way, I would. Let me know if this is a service you can provide, or if you will ignore my inquiries for custom lighting as you've done in the past.

Thanks for your input.

You'd be down $1650 but might be worth it for sentimental advantage

I think the headlights look great. If money wasn't a problem, I would have purchased JDM lights before I did an HID oem projector swap. If you compare them to the USDM lights, there is acutally a difference in the glass. Do you notice how the glass in front of the projector is totally clear except for that one tiny circle? this optimizes how sharply the light comes out and would be a better match to retrofitted hid projectors. The usdm lights have a few fringes which help with overhead lighting but with HID, it slightly blurrs the cutoff.

Very nice, I saw when Mike originally posted them. IMO it's worth it, but out of the budget at this time. I've already spent all that I wanted to on appearance mods.

Question for Mike: In this headlamp, what determines the angle and pattern of the low beam? The projector itself? because as was already mentioned, besides one tiny ring, there are no reflectors on the glass in front of the low beam.

I was waiting for you (or another lighting pattern "freak") to reply.

simply put, you dont have to be a "lighting guy" to know that its STUPID to use a RHD lamp in a country that uses LHD headlamps. not only is the flare pointing in the wrong direction which makes signs and road markings less visible to you, but you're also offending oncomming traffic -- this applies to ANYONE running "jdm" headlamps, y0.

If I could pay someone to adjust the low beam projectors so that they point the right way, I would.

Take apart an entire headlamp assembly JUST to change the reflector? Not ideal, not easy to accomplish, not worth-while. Hence the reason why the USDM units are superior, they're ready to go. These, are not.

Let me know if this is a service you can provide, or if you will ignore my inquiries for custom lighting as you've done in the past.

So you want to do business.

Ok, We cleaned up the ebrake assemblies today so here are some pics. These things are in incredible shape for almost 15 years old (off of a '90) The only parts thats truly rusted are the brake shoes, which no parts stores have in stock around here. I'll probably end up ordering some from a dealer.

In preparation for getting my car painted, we took my wheels off. I was carrying them up my driveway to clean off all of the road grime and brake dust off the inside of the wheel, when I managed to "curb" one of my 9.5's by lightly brushing it against part of the sidewalk. Fucking curbed a rim when it wasnt even on the car :bash: :bash: :bash:

I've come to accept that fact... last month I scraped the other 9.5" pulling out of the bank drive through. I was mad for a couple of minutes, then realized that it was bound to happen.

Yeah I did that to mine too. Consider it a character feature and your rims initiated

Anyone care to breakdown this rhd lighting in a lhd country? My lights look like it lights up both sides equally. And about the signs arguement...there are signs on both sides of the road so I fail to see the difference. Please enlighen...
