I would like to test mu ecu on someones s13 that lives near by, im in kendall, fl. I have an ecu with red light constantly lit, In or out of diagnostics mode. The engine still turns on and idles 800-890 but runs pig pig rich. I have a safc2 and even if i drop the fuel 20%-30% it still runs rich and idles very choppy. The spark plugs are pitched black (we replaced them) and the oil smells like pure fuel. When i remove the injectors you can see fuel sitting on top of the pistons.
Following tests were performed
Compression 150 across the board
Z32 maf has 12v power and 1.46v on signal wire
Added an extra ground engine to chassis
TPS is at .35
440c Injectors are not stuck open or leaking
Coils have dark blue spark and good voltage
Safc is set 2 in 6out
Timing verified
The engine runs exactly the same wether these two (maf and tps) are plugged in or not. We lowered fuel pressure regulator to 20psi and still no change in afr.

is your ecu tuned for the MAF and injectors?

Have you open the ecu yet, take a look inside, sounds like a botched daughter board install. Just as well be a bad ecu.
Have you verified the safc install?
Try a real tune for your setup vs an safc, might be all you need.

The previous owner told me it had a nistune chip but he removed it. He could have easily damaged the ecu.

I have verified safc install, but it wouldn't hurt to triple check. I also opened the ecu and didn't see any visible damages. Im leaning towards a bad ecu, i just want to test it on someone elses car.

Remove the ecus back cover and look and to see if he moved the cj jumper back to cj1
Or if there's sloppy soldering work.

I will definitely check that out and get back with you.

It's currently on the cj2 jumper. Cj1 is empty.

If you know how to solder, move the jumper to cj1, it tells the ecu to read from the factory code.

This thread can be deleted, she is running to perfection now. I swapped from cj2 to cj1. Thank you Cotbu
