Might be hard, might be easy. Depends on your skill level.

If your grammar has anything to do with your level of intelligence it's going to be very, very difficult for you. Maybe even impossible.

lack of knowledge/skill in one area does not imply lack of knowledge/skill in all areas.

Why would I do that? Here is the US, we speak English. There's no need for me to speak any other language. If the need arose, like someone trying to tell me they've been stabbed/shot/etc, they should have taken the time to learn MY langauge. Too bad. I could give a fuck about anybody lazy enough to come here and not educate themselves. It has nothing to with intelligence, it's about common sense. And lack of ignorance.

You know before you sit there and talk shit about people maybe you should read your own stupid ass posts, because you cannot speak very good English yourself if you are writing phrases like

"It has nothing to with intelligence," aren't you missing a few words there buddy.

This is the kind of racist and stupid ass attitude that has the United States in the situation it's in.

okay let's say for some reason you end up in another country where most people don't speak your language.
that doesn't make you any dumber than you already are, does it?
then you get a car and want to do a project, and no one helps you cuz you can't speak the native language perfectly. cry. sob. it takes a long time to get perfect at another language if you start too late in life. are you gonna wait 20 years before you try to communicate in your new country?

"Here is the US, we speak English" is a pretty ignorant thing to say. you sound like my dad. totally intolerant of anyone but white native-born americans.

hehe making fun of ppl's online "accents" .

That's not very nice. plus it's irrelevant to the situation. what you SHOULD have flamed him for is not searching, not for having incorrect grammar.

I however do agree that people that have been in this country for 10+years should be able to speak english, especially people's who's alphabet uses english letters. For example...hispanic people get confused and upset cause i dont speak spanish. I even had this one Samoan woman tell me i should go learn her language. Obviously i smacked her in the face with an eraser, chased her with a stapler and stapled her tits to a stack of paper..called a dictionary. read it bitch.

"Here is the US, we speak English."....you probably meant "in" instead of "is" correct?

"stabbed/shot/etc,"....."etc" should have a period at the end of it.

"And lack of ignorance" ????....i believe that just contradicted the sentence that came before it.

you made 2 grammatic mistakes in your post, are you gonna flame yourself now for not taking enough time to learn YOUR language. :D

pnoydro is right, lately a lot of posts here end up as arguments. it probably helps explain why im visiting it less. :hs:

Good calls on my typos, glad to see people paying attention. Funny thing is you all got my point even with the typos, no one was confused enough to get angry because what I wrote made no sense. That's the difference.

driftaholic- You seem to miss a big point here, let me enlighten you. I don't browse online forums because I'm inept, ignorant, and need answers. I go to forums to keep up with things that other people are doing, and to assist them if they need it. I do and have done all my own research and work on my own car as well as numerous other cars, and 90% of the time help others because I've already done it or have the experience. I would never end up asking for help unless my own research yielded me nothing, and with the internet now available that's highly unlikely. I've done this stuff for longer than some of these kids have been alive, back when trial and error was the only option. Yes I am known to bash people as well, mainly when the question is so basic or the topic has been beaten to death already. Why? Because most of the time, people learn more from that. If Joe Schmoe came on and continually asked the most basic questions everyday and everyone spoonfed him the answers, how does he learn? All he gets back is that he can always lean on someone else to do everything for him and never have to worry about learning anything on his own. And 10 years later he's gone through the rest of his life like that, depending solely on others. He's become nothing more than another useless sheep in the world who can offer nothing back to the community he resides in. However if he is attacked for some of his questioning, he realizes that some of his thoughts are better left to his own research and findings, and realizes also that everyone has to give a little in a community, whether it be an online forum or not. Education in it's simplest form. The kid who cheats on all his tests learns nothing, the kid who reads the book and finds the answers learns a lot.
Your suggestion of me moving to another country would put me in the same position that I have always been in, because I'm educated enough to learn for myself and not to have mindless strangers tell me what I'd like to hear. There's nothing racist about believing in the langauge I was born to speak. What is racist is allowing others to butcher it or not even use it at all, but to expect us to understand and try to communicate with them because their own ignorance won't let them learn it. That is racist.
And for the record, I took four years of French, went to France for a school trip, and found that everyone I met spoke English. I never even got to try the langauge I had learned. Go figure.

i completely agree with you about bashing n00bs for not searching, and making them think for themselves, etc. i don't agree with telling them a project might be hard for them based on their english skills. just give the guy credit for trying. since you have experience with learning another language, you should know that it takes time.

you dont have to apologize for your grammar, just try to make your points as clear as possible, thats all.

as for russ, he's a dick and comes off rough pretty much like i do most of the time, and as he said its because we're all pretty much been around the lists long enough to know what we need to know. from this point on, its just picking up new details -- i mean, there's always more to learn. BUT, people who ask basic questions need to SEARCH before they ask. it reduces the clutter in the forums and teaches people to do things on their own. i am completely rewiring my entire car from scratch, do you hear me asking about any of the weird quirks i've encountered along the way? i've never done this before, most people havent done stuff like this before. I'm not asking for a hand out. You'll learn that the BEST modifications you can do are the ones that no one has ever done before, that no one can ever help you with, because its your own territory. not bragging, but probably why people get a kick when they see my car, russ's car, or various other people's rides that arent clutter with aftermarket shit and just tastefully modified -- where parts are integrated into the car, rather than added without class or good taste.

Hey, don't forget that americans have a bad reputation of being self-centered everywhere else.

You know I've traveled all over the world, and trust me, not everyone speaks english. Go to Japan, Go to Mexico, Go to Spain.

If you don't their languages even if they speak English. They will refuse to talk to you, cause they just hate americans, just love american money.
