89-90 power sunroof question(s)

Does any1 have any information or can point me a direction on the power sunroof sold in the 89-93 240sx.

How rare is it and what models and years was it offered in? I've searched but haven't found anything on it expect for that is was offered. And also I'm assuming that the bottons for it were located to the right of the steering column. Is that correct?

dont think there were power sun rof for 89-90. my 89 SE only had a pop up.

it just so happens that my 1989 240sx coupe has a power sunroof. im pretty sure its kinda rare since it is one of those special options like power windows or hud.i dont know exact numbers or models though, only that my car has one. oh yeah the buttons for it are located between the 2 spotlights above your rear view

thanx for the info machoonthetop. from what I understand the sohc coupe (XE) definately had a power sunroof option, I dont know about any of the DOHC models (both fastback and coupe). I also read that the fastback didnt have one because it couldnt fit a sunroof inside the roof; but I could've sworn I've seen video w/ a 180sx (yea i know japan) w/ a sunroof that sat like the eclipse power sunroof. But I could have been a kouki 180sx.

Is this right, does it sound right, the more (correct) information, the better!

Only the coupes got an OE power sunroof, the switches were mounted in place of the overhead maplight on a new panel. Fastbacks never had a power roof from the factory but you can/could easily add a pop-up style power roof from any number of aftermarket companies. Only problem is they raise up over the roof creating a higher roofline and look kinda silly.

i see a website say that power sunroof only in 89-90... but i m not sure about it, my 93 also just have a pop up...

hey, my 240sx coupe 1990 has one, it's powered and the bottons are on the map light. it cool and still works. now other information

The actual Silvia and 180's that came with sunroofs were motor driven not just pop ups.

my 89 hatch SE had pop up. My 89 coupe XE has power sunroof. The same roof, in fact, that my 90 Infinti M30 has. Only with much less headroom in the coupe.
