Hello everybody thanks in advance for any help. Please bare with me and my post.

A little background story
I'm in the process of putting my car back together. It's been sitting for the past 2+ years. Before getting ripped apart, everything was working correctly to my knowledge. The interior was removed for paint. We recently ripped the dash off, removed all the gauges and electronics. Rewired/tucked viper alarm, removed old prosport boost, greddy oil press, aem wideband, blitz boost ctrl, bee-r and all stereo stuff. Installed new boost, egt, air temp, aem serial gauge, water temp, oil temp, fan ctrl, jdm dcc and reinstalled old aem wideband, oil press and boost ctrl. Lots of new stuff but the wires are cleaned up and tucked away.

Tools I'm using is a fluke multimeter and a power probe 3

1st problem is my turbo timer wouldn't go off when the ebrake was dropped. Ebrake light goes off but the turbo timer doesn't shut. Also with my ebrake down I can still auto start the car. Before it will require it to be up.

So my first action was to unplug the ebrake wire. Tested both sides with the ebrake down. Ebrake side, no ground, harness side is grounded. Second thing I did was disconnect the turbo timer and alarm wires. Oem harness is still grounded. I've cut it near the fuse box before it goes up to the mess above the fuse box and same thing.

My question is where does it go and where does it end? Also is there any controller in between or anything I can check?

2nd problem I have is the glove box light and clock light in the cluster. The glove box light flickers with no lights on, it's giving me 5 volts off and 13-14 volts with the lights on. The clock light is normal when lights are on but when they are off it is dim and kinda flickers. I presume it's a short some where, maybe a positive to its ground wire. I have a HUD cluster but it use to work flawlessly.

I'm lost. Help.

Lol traced the pulsing/dim problem to the clock bulb in the HUD cluster which is weird.

Is the clock suppose to be lit when the ign is on and no lights on?

Traced the ebrake ground to a blue resistor box in the center console unplugged and ground went away other side of the resistor box goes to the body ground but I have to double check

in my experience, clock is backlit when the running/headlights are off and when you turn the lights on (nighttime) the clock dims

Thanks that's what I thought. I traced it down to the digital cluster or the sub harness being the problem. Waiting on a friend to bring his spare -:picardfp:

Spare is same thing. I'm about to burn the car to ashes.

By any chance can someone check their ebrake wire and see if they are getting ground when the handle is down and a 12v when the car is ignition on? My friends s13 is doing the same thing.

the ebrake wire gets grounded out when the handle is raised up. it is not a power wire.
