I'm having a blowby issue filling up my catch can super fast. (1-2 days driving) Motor is a s13 sr20 with a t3 top mount running 18 psi.

On the exhaust side the back t goes straight to the block. The other side goes to a catch can that routes to the intake after the maf. I'm getting boost in my crankcase badly.

Can I just take the hose off to the pcv and cap both ends off? What are the benefits and negative aspects to doing so?

You can add a fitting to the catch can and drain straight into the crank case. Just make sure the catch can sits higher than the drain tube.

Have you tried looking through this page?

It has some helpful tips. Maybe you can try a different set up.

I never found a answer saying "blank is the best way to run it" not wanting to use the exhaust for suction..

Capping the PCV will probably kill your motor faster. You have a hurt motor if you're getting that much blow by, rebuild it.

You need to rebuild your engine before the rod open the block sideways. your engine is toast. keep the pcv

Pull the hose off the intake and cap that. Your pushing a decent amount of power through it so i'd say route both hoses to a catch can with a breather on the top of it. I found having it connected before the turbo would assist the oil into the intake and catch can when my rb was running low compression. There no science to it, your engine will need a rebuild if its having that much blowby, until then just try to keep the catch can as empty as possible lol

Some great advice and suggestions in this thread

pcv is absolutely essential for street cars / daily drivers. Anything where oil quality vs mileage is a concern.

It is also associated with increase power output. Large displacement engines use belt driven vacuum pumps / dry sump tech to improve output, for example.

I ordered some fittings to redo my setup. Going to put a bung on the back of the cover and put it to catch can to then go to intake. The t will become a single line and it will go to the block drain.

Also this car is far from a daily driver. It's seen 2.5k miles in 2 years.
