Rattling sound coming from transmission

The car rattles at idle somewhere around the transmission. The rattle sounds similar to a knocking noise and it stops when the clutch is depressed.. any suggestions?

Well if it stops when the clutch is depressed you narrowed it down to something within the assembly there. maybe throw out bearing or something. Does it rattle through the gears or only idling?

I vote throwout bearing. Usually if the noise stops when you're on the clutch that points to throwout bearing issues.

Had a simmilar situation with my coupe, replaced the throw out bearing and it still made that noise, so a couole months later i dropped the trans a came across a bearing inside the trans that was making that noise.
