Anyone running this flywheel in their S13 SR?

I bought one recently and it was advertised as 15lbs, but when I put it on the scale, it seemed to weigh 19.4lbs and the OEM one seemed to weigh the same, 19.4lbs.

What do you think?

I've emailed the shop I got it from to see if anyone else has noticed this, I'll update this thread when I hear back.

EDIT: Spoke with the shop, no one else has ever mentioned this as far as they know. Unsure if the OEM Flywheel is a stock S13 SR20DET or not, can anyone confirm? Either way, its clear the SPEC Flywheel weighs the same, and I'm more than likely going to have to exchange it.

A lot of people told me to leave the flywheel alone. It's a small 4cyl engine and needs any extra low end inertia it can get.

Just wanted to update and say that I got everything worked out with the shop. I paid just a bit more and got the XACT Streetlite Lightweight Flywheel (ACT) and it arrived as advertised.

I'm still unsure what the deal was with the SPEC Billet, whether its always been sold as lightweight but not or if something happened recently with the manufacturing.

It seemed to be an OEM Replacement and not lightweight at all.

Factory flywheels were in the 25-28lbs range. I ran a Spec billet steel for quite a few years and never had an sissy with it. I never did weigh it. However, on a street driven car, you do not want the lightest flywheel made. It will make driving the car in traffic a nightmare.

It's not that bad. You get used to it. Your Sr probably came with a lighter flywheel without you knowing, theyr definitely 20+pounds stock.
