So I just finished rebuilding my ka24e in my '97 pickup, (I know, not an s-chassis or a z, but it's still the same engine that's in an 89-90 240, so I figure you guys must have some insight) and I start it up and drive it around a bit, and then it starts making this ugly ticking sound between ~2k-4k:-/. I know it's probably not wrist pin tick because I already did the whole "pull each plug until the noise stops" thing, and I had the head and valves all remachined and rebuilt and replaced, so I'm pretty sure it's not a lifter tick (or at least I hope it's not). We actually rebuilt it because the timing chain guide had shattered too so it's definitely not that either. Those three things have been all the reasons that I've seen so far, so I'm just wondering if there's anything else it could be and what it is.
