View Full Version : Just another Type X Question

Down and dirty:

searched. found answers. bought parts.

Bought:
Type X Front Bumper
Left and Right Bumper Extensions
Left and Right Bumper Extensions Brackets
Upper Retainer

Now I just want the damn Type X look without sag. Some people say I need a front bumper upper bracket. Some say my current one on a 1991 Nissan 240sx Hatch USDM will suffice.

Is this what I need to buy?
http://nissanparts.cc/partlocator/index.cfm?action=MorePartInfo&PartID=1199342&siteid=218242&catalogid=9759

Once I purchase this (or not, if I dont need it)

I have everything to make the bumper sit without sag right?

And keep your "buy everything, dont be a noob" or "your generation has no patience" crap to yourself. I am buying everything. Im just telling you what I have right now.

I understand safety concerns as well. Im not worried about foam support bar etc.

I drift this thing (or am learning to, whatever.)

I bought a Dang Drifters Bash Bar. Its installed. The OEM support bar is gone.

I hate seeing the sag on Type X conversions.

But seriously get the OEM 180sx bumper support bracket. FRSport has them for 69 dollars one of my friends bought it and it made a huge difference man!

I'm only using the Kouki brackets for the bumper extensions for the fenders. All of the other brackets I'm using are from my USDM bumper and mine fits perfectly.

I'm using the chuki usdm front bumper support with only 2 bolts. and a couple zip ties. nothing else, not even the side extensions. doesnt sag. drifted off track at 40mph and still no issues. there is a slight gap in the picture due to my hood hitting my cold pipe, but i shaved the hood and it's flush now

Kouki's don't have a hood gap from the factory.

I know that, not sure I follow where you're going.

I think he's saying you have a gap in that picture, so it doesn't fit perfectly. BTW. What headlights are those? Are they projectors?

It fits that good with just two bolts in the upper support only and the hood isn't even bolted on, just sitting there. It has a gap because none of the front end is fully bolted up right now, but it most certainly does not have a sag.

As for headlights, they are first gen NSX projectors. They still flip up and down too.
