Here's my story:

It all started a week after I installed a pos starter! I put it in and a week later it begins to not start, unless I tap it. Randomly it comes back...not all the time but sometimes I have to tap it. Well it got really bad last tuesday so I decided to say tha hell with it!!! Called up Meineke (new owner is nice) and they say they'll replace it (with another one of my own) starters for $75. Not bad I guess considering the hell I went through. Mistake...

SO I go to pick it up but apparently there was a short. I get there and my baby's badly hurt!!! apparently they somehow got my 2 gauge wire where it connects to the original battery wire, stuck to the strut tower...and of course, conveniently, the electrical tape holding and covering the union is gone....apparently they tried to start it when it was grounding out and voila...fried wires from the ext fuse box down to the starter and alternator...

I take the blame half way because I should have done that union with a 2 gauge inline fuse...but there's no way it could have gotten in the position they claim it was. I had to have it towed to the dealer cuz I didn't want anyone but a nissan mechanic lookin at the wires and maybe replacing part of, if not all of the wire harness.

So Monday they said it would run about $1,600 to replace the wire harness (pts & labor)...Im trippin like a school girl who just found out she was pregnant!

Anyone has experience with either replacing part or all of the wiring harness have any advice? I just bought a "complete" harness for $110 shipped and expect to get crackin' this weekend. Here are some pics of the damage:

Replacing the lower harness should take about 20 minutes at most. Don't even get stressed about it.
