Last night while I was touging with some friends the check engine light for my car went on. And I smell a very strong gasoline smell in my car when I get into it. My friend told me that I probably have an exhaust leak, I did indeed just installed my exhaust like a month ago but everything was fine until now. Does anyone have any ideas what's wrong and how can I fix it??

Read the code off the ecu. Always helps.

crap no obd2 scanner ... IS there anyway that I can get this checked up without the scanner? What might be the problem judging from the strong gasoline smell?

A strong gasoline smell could mean that you might have a leak at either the fuel filter, the fuel pressure regulator, fuel injector seals or around the gas tank area, (either filler neck or fuel pump area). Only way you will know for sure is to pop the hood & check all these areas while the engine is running. Make sure the car is parked in a well ventilated area away from any houses or garages. If you smoke, try not to light one up while you do this & make sure you have a fire extinguisher readily available.... just in case!!!
Anyhow, you might want to track this leak down asap...
Good luck!!

Hmm nope, never checked the injector. Damn anyone in the bay area can help me take a look at my engine? I am off tomorrow and monday. And if you can fix it for me, I will gladly pay you to get this fixed.

I think you can actually rent code readers from Kragen/Autozone.
If not, take it to a mechanic, have them diagnose and give you an estimate, then go and fix it yourself. :P

He can check the code himself and just post up how many long flashes and short flashes. Not that hard to do.

yea I went ahead and did it. 3 long and 3 short, 33- exhaust o2 sensor circuit. I am thinking either bad o2 sensor or my new exhaust changed the o2 flow... Anyways haha time for some new o2 sensor. Never changed that thing after I brought the car... Guess I will have some better mileages soon.
