alright So I always had a sneaking suspicion that my clutch would give me prolblems, So after mounting engine and tranny, next thing I would do is clutch so If I had to pull it out again I would be able to do it before too much was done, Well today I had my dad help me bleed the clutch. I think we got most air out and I bypassed clutch damper so it should be good. Now here is the problem. the slave pin or piston what ever it is, the part that contacts the fork. came out totally, and I think my dad had to put a lot of force on the pedal. now Im hoping it is just a bad slave but I dont think so. should the fork have any play at all. I took the slave off and the fork had a bit of play, What im thinking is that the pressure from clutch or the fork should stop the slave piston from extending too far, so by that not happening, my dad put too much pressure and the slave had to extend so far that the piston just totally poped out of the cylindar. am I right or what, I will buy a new slave tomarrow and see what happens but im thinking same shit is gonna happen. btw I searched and found tons of shit but nothing pertaining quite to this situation.

Check your Master Cylinder, maybe you should replace that as well as the clutch slave.

Yes there should be play with the clutch fork, when it pivots, it pushes the throwout bearing on/off the pressure plate. If the clutch fork is hanging off the transmission, i.e. it doesn't move the same way everytime, your fork is detatched off the slave cylinder. It could just be that your master cylinder is not putting enough force thru the slave thats why the pedal feels hard maybe? Go with master/slave cylinders first. Its a good thing to do if your car is over 100k anyways... those things will go bad eventually.

problem is my master is brand spankin new. also my problem is that the slave seems to be fully extended out, like it cant go anymore. that is why Im thinking the fork is messed or something, but I know I put the clips and shit on right. I put a new spec clutch in. greased it up at all points and did evverything by the book. And I know that the fork is supposed to move but that is when its under intense pressure from the slave. is it supposed to have like a half inch or maybe a lil less of play, I can move it with my hands very easily back and forth,

also, Is there something in the slave that would make it so the piston should never pop out, or is it supposed to pop out with too much force or the fact that the clutch fork is not engaging right? i donno. IM going to buy a new one anyway but id like to know if im gonna have to tear the engine out again.

pivot for the forks break on sr's so i would check that, if that's it the pivot bolt for the sr is not the same as ka but you could do either one buy nismo slave cyl that comes with a strengthened pivot bolt or you could make your own, go to home depot and buy a bolt with same thread pitch and size as the pivot bolt and grind the head round it has to be the same length as pivot bolt btw u have to remove the trans good luck this actually happened to my friend and i made him a home depot pivot bolt :D

I really dont think this is it though, I have never done shit since I installed the clutch, and it was fine then, also I didnt hear anything break when I was down there as my dad was in the car

grab the fork and pull it if it feels really loose then thats it if not put a new slave and retry

hey, so I took the slave off, cleaned it up and looked at it, It seems to be fully extended out, and maybe my dad put too much pressure on it and it pushed the fork all the way, only the problem is the fork didnt push the clutch in, thus adding force to make it so the slave piston could never extend as far as it did, I had to hammer it pretty friggin hard to get the piston to move back in. so Im thinking the fork is not hooked up right only, I know I did because I followed the FSM on how to do it,
I did a search but no info, will the ka slave fit the sr, Im sure it will but donno.

yea when you push the slave all the way out, it usually ruins it.
so you should get a new one.
they are only about 15 bucks.

I had the same issue with my tranny. Wut clutch are you running...if you say ACT Extreme then were definitely on the boat. At first I thought my fork was bent cuz thats the only logical explanation why i keep over extending my slave cylinder. Bought a new fork, same result. Got pissed off, found a narrow washer and put it on the pivot. Readjusted my clutch pedal, never had an issue again.
