Camera flies out of car on 350z warm up lap

I didn't even make it 1 lap around the track before the camera flew off the follow car. Surprisingly the camera still functions properly with some scratches and small cracks on the body. CANON FTW!

how was the camera mounted?
i don't own a fancy camera anymore but watching this happen to mine, i'd probably have a heart attack.
