I posted this info on my Facebook and Instagram accounts, but wanted to spread the word here as well in case other Zilvia members that interacted with Nico hadn't heard from the community.

I was shocked and saddened to receive the news this morning that fellow s-chassis enthusiast Nico (wh0aitznic0) passed away in a car accident this weekend. Nico was one of the first to welcome me when I joined both Nico Club and Zilvia and was a huge supporter of my build from the very beginning.

Nico, though I never had the pleasure of meeting you face to face, you made an impact in my life and will be sorely missed in this community. Sending my thoughts and prayers to all of Nico's friends and family. If anyone out East hears more info on what I and others can do to help Nico's family please let me know. Rest in peace, homie.

Naturally, I was and still am in a state of shock and disbelief.
Just days before, we had been discussing our road trip to Final Bout this year.

I had the pleasure of knowing Nico for a several years as we started off e-friends on Zilvia and then hanging out in-person.
He was always an amazing dude to to be around, funny and full of energy. His car will always be a personal favorite of mine and it really encompassed the old school drift look we both loved. He was a style king.

There are a ton of good memories I have of you, Nico. I am thankful for those.
I am honored to have called you my friend...
I will miss you my brother!

I've added a link to the first page to a GoFundMe page created to help Nico's family with funeral expenses.

I think his name on Nico was something like "4lug_hero" I remember him having a white coupe with gunmetal five spoke wheels... possibly old XXRs back in 2008 or so. Or am I confusing him with someone else?

Nico's ex-girlfriend (who was still very close with him) is the one that originally told me he had passed away. She sent me a link yesterday to a news site on Facebook that shows photos from the scene of the accident. He crashed at the entrance to a hospital, but it was not equipped with a trauma unit so he needed to be moved to a different hospital that was farther away. She told me they believe he was killed in the initial impact though. I don't typically like to post details like this publicly, but it sounds like Nico's family wants people to know of his passing and the circumstances. It sounds like he really knew and impacted a lot of people over the years, especially those of us in the car community.

Very sad. Nico was always super encouraging to me over the years and I always loved his car. I was really looking forward to finally meeting him in person at Final Bout next month.

Insane. We visited the crash site last night and it was just unreal. I am glad for the good memories I have of Nico. Great dude. I met him about 7 years ago at a meet in Philly and I'm glad I did.


He had just given me condolences on a death in my family. We and a few other guys were making plans for Final Bout. When I heard bits and pieces of news I tried to call and text him. A few hours later I got the whole story and realized he was gone.

No official word. But from visiting the site the skid marks veer to the right which make me think he was avoiding a deer. We also saw a deer walking around while we were there. But that's just a theory.
