Do i have to buy a whole kit?

get a new intake gasket set and a headgasket.

reuse old exhaust gaskets

for the poorest of the poor

Chances are you will ruin your IM gasket when pulling it off the head. Definitely need a new one of those and they're $10-15. That and the head gasket are really the only ones you need. Exhaust gaskets can be reused and if they leak after, then get new ones. Make sure you get a SOHC KA24E head gasket or a DOHC KA24DE head gasket, the front engine covers are different shapes and so are the gaskets. You could make them work...I did.

Headstuds are also a good upgrade at this time
