help peoples.i went to replace my fuel pump on my s13 that has been sitting for a few years.when I saw the inside of my tank I was disgusted!the fuel has turned into kerosine basically and into a flakey dried and some places gooey mess.anyone got any good tips for cleaning this out?id love to avoid taking it out but realized that is wishful thinking.suggestions anyone? im expecting most you to say buy a new tank by the way ha!

lol that is not a reason to buy a new tank. Its gonna need to come out though...

Hose and degreaser should do the trick. Just clean thoroughly and let it completely dry out and you should be good. If you have the cash now would be a good time to replace worn bushings in rear.

If you don't want to do it, radiator shops can clean your fuel tank for you. I had that done for my 240z and it was inexpensive imo for how much time I would have had to spent on it doing it myself.

No kidding? Tell us more, that sounds rad. How was the finished product?

thanks for the suggestions guys ill start cleaning myself first .if it turns into a big pain or makes me angry ill have to try the radiator shop.i have heard of them doing that before actually.just didn't come to mind .did you have to drop anything else to get tank out.ive heard one strap bracket is hard to get to but u can slide it out.thanks again
