ok well i am on my way to getting my custom ka-t in. i have a question about the o2 sensor. but first this i s what i was plannin on doin. which was not puttin on an exhaust at all, not even a downpipe, and puttin screen over exhaust outlet preventing foregn objects from gettin into turbo, mainly because of the now lack of money second reason is it doesnt matter if there is no exhaust because pack preasure is a turbos worst enemy. now the question is what about the o2 sensor? specifically for dyno time tuning with wideband o2. i am not sure exactly how it works, does it just screw into where the excisting o2 sensor is? if soo how can they have the right size. because every car is different or do i not have to worry about that. now i know what people are goin to say is, all that heat in the engine bay, thats not good well i was plannin puttin shields along the back of the turbo so i wont melt the brake master cykinder or clutch ms or anything else that might get effected, till i can get a downpipe made soo if anyone has any comment or suggestion all are welcome even if u think i am a complete idiot which i know i am i am just too damn inpatient and want to get the car on the road thanx hope someone can help out

Read (press search button) up on turbo and how the engine works to get a better understanding of what is needed in order to complete your project RIGHT. Your exhaust idea will not work. You need at least something to take the exhaust gasses away from under the hood to the outside, shields will do nothing.

1500* exhaust gasses. Plastic stuff, wires, and a painted metal object. Not to mention the firewall is only there to protect to a certain temperature for minutes, not permanent. I hate this new 240 trend.

Wire mesh screen is gunna hold up real well against the exhaust gas. LOL

Seriously, thats one of the most absurd ideas ive ever heard. At the least you need a small section of DP just dumping to the ground to avoid melting half your damn engine bay. And if you do that its going to be loud as all hell still...

LOL I don't have an exhaust on my turbo, BUT THAT'S BECAUSE I DROVE IT 2 MILES DOWN THE ROAD TO THE SHOP! Do NOT run w/o an exhaust. Dude, just get 1 mandrel (doesn't have to be) bent pipe and a plate of steel and make your own pipe that goes from the turbo to the flange on the first cat or get an SR downpipe to replace the first cat. You don't want your car sounding like a pile of redneck ass, and for the backpressure/performance issue, weld a cut-out onto your custom made pipe so you can open her up when you need to.

I drove my car that 2 miles down the road and within those 3 minutes of driving I guess I was able to boil the brake fluid and my clutch just lost ALL feel. So NO EXHAUST = NO GOOD!
