I just finished installing the headers on and it's all good. I did fuck up though when I was putting everything back and forgot to take out the old gasket from the manifold, so I had to take that part of again. All in all everythind is working okie dokie. I don't understand why it won't pass smog if the egr, aiv, and O2 sensor's are on. Do any of you know the answer?

an aftermarket header lets more exhaust gas exit from the motor (less restrictive). sometimes the volume is too overwhelming for the catalytic convertor to filter. this makes some cars not pass smog with upgraded exhaust systems.

solution: you can run a dual cat setup. adds weight but may reduce pollution. or remove it when ur ready to smog.

be prepared to spend a little more on gas.
gas consumption usually gets worse with it...sacrafice mpg for power though...

Are you talking about the cats or putting the header on?

header...

i haven't gotten any on my car yet, but i am supposing this is true. a lot of locals have gotten aftermarket header(s) and they've experienced lower gas mileage. any experience on this?

Only when you floor it. DD it is the same.
