Hey I saw this on eBay ( i usually never shop for car parts on eBay.com but anyway) and I was wondering if it was legit. It sounds too cheap to work..but the guy has positive feedback from people who bought it. Does anyone have experience with this type of chip? Does it work? Any non-flaming comments will be appreciated. No sh*t talk please, I just want a straightforward answer.
Sorry if this is a repost...I tried search.
By the way I'm new here... :bite:
Here's the auction I saw

They are BS...
"Chipping" a 240SX ECU is quite involved and requires removing the stock eprom, soldering on a daughterboard, and burning a new chip...this is what JWT does.
You cannot "reflash" the ECU like many domestic cars or Subarus...
The eBay auction you posted looks like some add on controller (looks like a BS one at that), an couldn't do jack sh!t.
You'll also see those intake air temp sensor resistor mods...also BS.
With a 240SX, you'll find that "you get what you pay for"...there are aftermarket deals to be had, but not like this.

Sorry for keeping this thread alive, but I think I have some good advice here. My five personal guidelines for buying parts on eBay:
If the auction pictures have nothing to do with the actual part, don't buy it.
If it doesn't tell you what the product actually is or does, don't buy it.
If shipping costs more than the part in question, don't buy it.
If the first question in the FAQ is "Does this product really work?" don't buy it.
If it has a picture of a Taurus station wagon burning out, don't buy it.
This particular auction happens to break all of these guidlines, so I would tend to shy away from any purchases. Keep in mind that these are guidelines and not rules; so if you feel like spending the money regardless-- by all means spend the money.
