Ok so still thinking of ideas
at first it was between turbo l33 and ls2
l33 won for power goals for the price, plus if i didnt want to turbo it right away
i could still have a little fun with a cam etc
but now looking at L92's and how its pretty much an ls3 with a few differences
I was wondering if it could match that similar budget turbo build of the l33
If im aiming for around 500whp
assuming i can get a full L33 for $1000
and an L92 Long Block for $2000 (Id need different intake, oil pan and stuff anyway)
Also would want to look at the weight difference
I couldnt find anything on how much a full L92 Weighs

I would say the L92 would be around the 450-500 lb weight as the Ls1 is around 450lb weight and the L92 would have the variable valve time stuff on it. You could probably throw on some cams and some higher flowing heads and get 500whp on the L92. I would just think the L92 would cost more since its a newer engine and where im from the L33 is already hard to find also.

Honestly, Find an LS1 and use the difference cost to get you up to your power goals by buying a good head and cam combo

I am building an L33 + turbo S14. An N/A 6.0 or 6.2 build will be far cheaper than a "budget" L33 + turbo setup. Good luck finding a L33 for 1k these days, they are getting tougher to come across unfortunately.
I have ~$1k+ in just raw stainless/aluminum piping/flanges/fasteners for my turbo plumbing. That doesn't include the turbo, wastegate, BOV, or intercooler. Fuel system to support a turbo is big money on an LSx, quality 1000cc injectors are $1k. Converting a 5.3 into a mini LS is something that can be either cheap or expensive depending on how you approach it. Space gets tight, fab work is necessary, tuning is more involved. I'd say the decision depends on how much of the work you can do yourself.
Weight difference is gonna be in the 80-100lb region. A turbo setup gains some weight vs. long tube headers (my LT's weighed 40lbs for the pair)
6.0 or 6.2 has potential for an easy 500whp NA with the right head cam combo. Start there and come back to turbo later if you decide you still need it. That's what I would do if I could start over, a used LS2 + mildly built LS3 heads, a custom cam, fed by a stock intake.

Are you dead set on aluminum block? Iron 5.3's are a dime a dozen, cost significantly less, and have been making BIG power on boost for years.
LS swaps are already expensive enough. Iron block will be the way I'm going.

Iron 5.3 + turbos is pretty much the ultimate big power budget setup. But 500whp is cake for turbo Gen IV engines, you might as well shoot for 700whp.

Exactly, but that's when all the supporting parts start to get expensive.

If 500hp is the ultimate goal turbo is a waste of money. Ultimate budget setup would be iron 5.3 with a cam and nitrous plate kit. They even make plates for truck intake manifolds.
If you must have aluminum block, same above applies but with the additional cost.

Also keep in mind that some Gen 3 motors actually have Gen 4 rods and timing chain. My 05 LM7 has the upgrades from the factory.
L92 you will have to remove the VVT so that's another $120+. If you need to be 24x that's another $250. Motor weight between iron and aluminum is about 80-110 depending on who you ask.

Shameless plug but I have a 411 PCM and WS harness all new ready to go depending on how soon you need this stuff. Will have the swap mounts and other goodies. Check out my thread if you need any of this stuff.
