I have tried to search but can't find anything.

basically yesterday i stopped at the gas station, when i came back out i had no power to anything. so with out any tools to check anything we waited. and finally i tried to turn the headlights on and all power came back. (not sure if just a coincidence or something related to the headlights) drove to a friends house and everything was still fine. started up to go home just fine. then this morning i was going to work and when i tried to start it i again had no power to anything including the headlights. haven't had time to check much. all fuses are fine and grounds are good. anyone have any idea where i can start? the only thing i've noticed is the plastic piece on the back of my ignition switch is loose. but i would think i'd still have headlight power if the ignition switch was bad. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Alright so I've narrowed it down to the body not getting grounded. The battery is in the trunk and the negative cable is grounded to the strut tower. Could this be the problem? Should I try putting the ground somewhere else? Or look elsewhere for a bad ground?

Check the 75 amp Alternator fuse in the passenger side fuse box under the hood
