I am doing my 5 speed swap very soon and I was wondering if there is any thing I need to do to the harness. I have the parts except the 5 spd ECU but my friend told me to ask on the forums. I know what parts I need but just refresh me if you can and anything that I need to do extra. This is for a 91 ka. Gotta go to work now so just reply to this if you can. Take it easy

You need the connectors for neutral, 5th gear and reverse that come off the 5spd harness. As for the auto harness...you need to loop the top switch behind the fuse box...and the connector below it will have two wires that mate to the reverse connector from the 5spd harness.

Thanks though, my friends is just goin to the junk yard and picking me up the tranny and stuff. I already have the clutch master cylinder, pedals, slave cylinder, and cable, and tranny cross mount for the rear. I'll keep you in mind if i need any thing tho, thanks

Technically, the only thing you 'need' fron the transmission is the speed sensor, the reverse switch is only used to turn the reverse ligths on (your auto has it anyway), the 5th gear and neutral switches are not necesssary to drive the car.

5th gear switch tells the ECU gear position and is part of the speed limiter, the neutral switch simply signals the car is in neutral, neither one affect driveability.
