Anyone else have this problem? I searched but didnt find much on this. I think my temp gauge may be not working right. I was driving yeasterday and noticed the temp needle was past H... I was very freaked out and pulled over and let the car cool off. I let it sit, then started it back up and it was in the middle like normal, but then a min later it went back to hot, then a little while later it will go down, then shoot back up again in short time. Im thinking of installing an aux Temperature Gauge to see if the needle stays in one place. I have some water and antifreeze at the house so im gonna do a flush soon as well. Well, if anyone has any light on the subject please do share. Im pretty fed up with the 240's cluster, first I had problems with the odometer, now this.... thanks for any feed back.

some of that sounds like a sticking thermostat. try flushing and bleeding the system and check the t-stat with some hot water. i would not recommend driving around too much with it on H though.

Sounds like you either have a sticking thermostat, or air in the system. Try bleeding it really well like skatanic said, and if that doesn't work, change the thermostat. :hs:

I had this same exact problem with my S13 i just crashed. Had it for about a month.. Car never actually was overheating, the gauge was just acting like it. Replaced the thermostat twice (once aftermarket, once nissan). Problem was irradic. Wouldn't always happen. Right up until i crashed the car last week i started slowly losing anti freeze. i was going to buy a new rad and water pump and hope it fixed it, but never got around to it, cause yeah read the first line.

-Update-

I replaced the thermostat last night and drove to work this morning (about a 30 min drive) and it seems to have fixed the problem ::knock on wood::
