Sup guys!? I've got a GTiR T28 for sale. This is an AWESOME turbo. Good for 320whp on an SR20 no problem. Bolts to the stock manifold/DP, and uses stock inlet, and outlets..
Good condition, ZERO In-out shaft play, and a very small amount of up-down shaft play. I will get pics tonight, but this is what it looks like:

I bought it from a guy who was using it on his Sentra, and upgraded to a larger turbo. Since I'm looking for a house, I'm putting my turbo project on hold. My loss, your gain.
I'm asking $450 obo.

I'm interested, but concerned about using that on a stock SR with a SMIC (not sure wich I'm going to run yet though) chances are by the time my money is available,it'll be sold :(
Either way, bump for a nice turbo

Also I measured the shaft play and it appears to be around ~.010".

Come on mang, he's from the West Coast, you know reading is lower on the list of priorities. Still, anyone with a brain would know the GTi-R turbo is both ballbearing, and a direct bolt on. But we're asking too much out of someone to think.

Actually, as far as I know, the Pulsar GTiR turbo has journal bearings, not ball bearings. It's most definately not a laggy turbo though.
lv-180sx - the only thing that may not be straight bolt up is the oil and coolant lines.. ?? I don't know. They might though. A search around would probably tell you more.

if this thing is good for 320rwhp like u say then i am intrested ... but i always thought the gtir turbos were pretty weak and make less than the s14 t-28

this is a quote from "Hollywood" on Freshalloy:
The gti-r max effeciency is 17PSI (I tested it on the dyno) and I made 299whp, 290wtq on a mustang dyno so like 335 dynjet whp basically. An upgrade to that would be good for a bit more hp and spool.
also, it appears after some searching that it isn't a direct "bolt-in" affair.. But I certainly wouldn't say it sounds difficult:
From "aaron240" on FA
I 'made' a new gtir t28 to work with my redtop sr20det. But there were a few obstacles, and here they are.
1). You have to clock the compressor(no biggy)
2). When you clock wastegate actuator bracket is offset, all you need to do to fix it is cut triangles out of it untill it is aligned agai, then weld or get someone to weld.
3) Compressor housing is higher up, and further towards firewall. I hav a HT hotpipe, initially it does not fit, but if you take the compressor outlet pipe and cut it in half, then cut it on a 40 degree angle towards the front of the car, and then reweld it you should be fine with fitting it to any hotpipe.
4). Turbo air inlet pipe has to be cut close to the flange and rotated 60 degrees towards the driver fender because the gtir t28's flange is offset and makes that pipe either point straight down(good for cold air intake setup), or towards turbo manifold.
Since I instlled the gtir t28 I have noticed incredible gains over the old T25, and it is twice as loud when it spools

This is by far the cheapest and most effective turbo upgrade.

guess so....
What does he mean by clocking the compressor and wastgate??

when you clock the compressor, you simply unbolt the back of the housing, and turn it (in reference to the turbine..) If you have a stock t25, you could compare the way they are "clocked" and adjust accordingly... here's a pic for reference.. (look at where the compressor outlets are positioned in reference to the turbine inlet.

As far as the wastegate actuator goes, you might be able to use your t25 wastegate acutator bracket on this turbo so that it would still line up.

I made over 350HP on my GTi-R turbo......Just a bit to help sell it......I have since upgraded to a T04B and Haltech EMS.....And honestly I really like the way the T28 spooled so quick but made a hell of a lot more power than the T25........
I paid 400 for mine in used condition,( not as good as this one) and a buddy of mine is now running it on his SR, still going strong.....So 450 is a REALLY good price for this turbo.......

The turbo has to be clocked and the wastegate acuator will not work where it sits.....I clocked mine and made a bracket to fit the actuator where it needed to be in like 3 hours.....
Free bump bro....Good luck in the sale....I wish I could help you more, anyone looking for awsome power out of a stock SR turbo is missing out if they dont pick this up.....

clocking it is nothing difficult, so don't let that scare you off. This turbo get's my recommendation as mine makes my CA scream on the interstate.
here's a picture of how the bracket was fixed for my application

the actuator rod broke when we tried to adjust it...

^^^ you bumped a 3 year old thread... and to top it off, that's not a GTiR T28, it's a S14 or S15 T28. The GTiR T28 has a .86 A/R stamped on the compressor housing, not .60.

^^^ You correcting somebody with another wrong info. That is an GTIR T28. and I'm not saying this because I searched it. I have both of them.

^^^ Ehhh, the P/N does check out to be a GTiR T28... I had one up to last year and thought it said A/R .86 on the compressor housing for some reason. My bad and thanks for the correction.
