This is the kit. Got it from Powertrix in San Dieago. Price shipped was $765.58.

Here's a comparison, side by side of the oem rear rotors and the front 300z rotors. (I think the rotor size for the 240sx is the same all around though)

See how much bigger the 300z's are. I beleive 11 vs 9.

Here are the calipers. Massive compared to the dinky 240sx oem ones.

Here's a picture of the rear calipers. Front are pretty much the same size.

Question!
Anyone have any recommendations for someone or place to powdercoat them? I've always liked the black with white Nissan letters look.
I'm in Minnesota, just in case.
And for those who remember my other posts, I have a base model, so I'll need to do the 5 lug conversion before I can put these on... Plus get some rims and wheels...

Wow pretty nice. $765 doesn't seem too bad. And from what I see 300zx brakes are pretty much all a 240 ever needs. Seeing how most big brake kits are in the thousands, $765 feels alot better.

very nice, what are those pads you going with?

Dude. What the fuck!? You can't compare rear 240 rotor to front 300zx rotor! $768 is insane. I did my entire swap for $400, with $70 pads. Rebuilt calipers, conversion lines, new rotors, and after shipping and taxes.
But if you really want to compare rotors, compare 240 rears to 300zx rears. The rear rotor for a 300zx is 11.9" iirc, so it's actually larger than the fronts, while stock 240 rears are smaller than the fronts.

... $356 to get new rear rotors/pads, and some mesh line. I see now.
I don't see it, so you will need a brake hardware kit from Nissan. And 4 pins from Nissan, and cotter pins from a hardware store. The hardware kit has 8 shims and some anti-squeal for about $50, and the pins from Nissan are $2/each. Unless that stuff is just not pictured, then disregard.

You don't have to convert to 5lug to put those on, just redrill the rotors. But since you seem to love throwing money away, do it. $765 for brakes is the biggest ass-ripping I've yet to see. Someone over at Powertrix is urinating on your printed email right now.
I paid $520 total for all four corner Z32 brakes. Used calipers, rebuild kits, new cross-drilled rotors, stainless lines, Axxis MM pads, and powdercoating, and a pair of 'surprise' Z32 rear uprights I didn't even know about.
I feel sorry for your loss.

What brand rotors? Drilled for 4 lug? Used calipers, or rebuilt? What kind of pads?

It's a high price, but maybe he didn't have the time to buy all the stuff separately. Or pay for shipping. or he may just not have known, don't hate on him. I just hope they gave him the hardware kit. West and I picked our stuff up for about $460 (w/o the 5-lug swap). That's not including shipping for some of the stuff.

Well, this is what forums are for. I'm sure that Powertrix *bow down to advertiser* gave him NEW calipers, and then $750 is less than you will pay Nissan for 2x calipers new.
Either that, or the guy just wanted a full kit, and you always pay for people to piece stuff together.
In the future, I'm sure the guy will either a) ask what pieces are necessary and piece it together, or b) buy a kit and happily post it up.
I really didn't mean to start a flame war. Your calipers look new, so I'm sure they are, and hence the higher price. Enjoy the brakes, and keep your teeth out of the steering wheel. When my friend (used to driving 5,200 pound Newport) stomped on my new 300zx brakes, I thought for sure we were going to see a 240 pull a stoppie. And he ate steering wheel!

People on this forum are so cheap, along with the 240 community in general. Who cares if he got ripped off, he did get what he wanted and he is happy. Personally I would buy the kit from PDM because everything is so shiny and rebuild. But 900$ or so is to much to me.
My question is what was your reason to do the 300zx brakes?
Personally I have no reason so new rotors and brake pads will do it for me...

Reason = driving habits. I drive fast and brake hard. Alot. Brakes were the first mod I did, for safety, and they honestly have saved me from hundreds of wrecks. Including me driving 80+ and accelerating while a truck decided to pull broadside across the road making a left out of a parking lot.
Heat absorbance and fade resistance are greatly increased with 300 brakes.

I don't have qualms about the fella paying as much as he did for hisbrakes, but that being said....those of us who don't shell out almost $800 for the same stuff (if you have the know-how and want to do so) for half or even less that price....
I myself got a good jump on the conversion. Got some 26 mm aluminum callipers two years ago for free, powdercoted them for free (from a friend in the business), and have the rebuild kit coming to me ($70 from PDM)....all I have left is lines, pads and rotors......shouldn't be much more than $400 or so

It's called "C a p i t a l i s m" .. People pay "what it's worth" to them, and getting the most for your dollar is what America is all about. :P
EVERYONE IS CHEAP.. not just 240sx owners.

No shit. I love my 240, but if I had the money I'd be driving something else (like an FD or STi or S2000 or G35...you get the picture.).
p.s. I'd love to have a car where everyone doesn't ask me "Do you drift man?!?" :bash:

i think i paid $550 for my brake set up off ebay 2 years ago.
i got
rebuilt front 30mm alum z brakes
brembo crossdrilled and slotted front z rotors and rear 240sx rotors
metal master pads (z front, 240sx rear)
pdm front lines
also got 5 lug hubs all around (junkyard) for $200 at the same time.
but remember, as far as economics goes, prices, so called "good deals" are relative and should be judged based on the point of view of the buyer. If you think $800 is worth it, then it is a good deal no matter how much people say you got ripped off. Percieved worth of the buyer is the most important thing, thats why a lot of times when i buy something i don't tell people how much i paid. cause i'm happy with the price, and i don't want someone to say i got ripped off (or even say i got a good deal) cause that will change my percieved worth of my purchase, for better or worse.
all that to say is, screw everyone else and waht they think, as long as you're happy dude. and they are certainly worth every penny no matter what the market value is.

No.....no...240 owners are cheap.
Nowhere else in the world I have recieved lowball offers on a $4,000 dollar car for say...800 bucks.
