I can get a 95' j30 LSD and I was wondering about fitment issues on my 96 s14. Will it just straight up bolt on, basically just swaping the pumpkins? or do I have to get output shafts? or the drive shaft? I don't have ABS so is there a problem with that? anyways, thanks

I'm pretty sure it's a straight swap with the S14. Search, it has been covered many times.
PS- I just installed one in my S13. Bought it from a guy who had it in his S14.

You have to swap off the face of the LSD, so that it bolt up. Also make sure the bushings are on the to "ear" looking things, cuz I bought mine and it was missing one, and I had to make a bushing, which kind of sucked.

No, you don't need the axles if it's a 95-96
92-94 require axles...
you should read through that link orion::S14 posted...so you don't misinform next time... :bigok:
PS- VLSD is better than open diff

Brian, have you heard about any trouble of issues with non ABS 240's and the j30 LSD?

Driveshaft is a little tighter, nothing to worry about.
And to guy up top who said to swap covers, on an S13 that's required, not on an S14. Reading comprehension does wonders.

Like Russ said...no.
Here's a cut and paste from my site:
"A problem you may run in to when using either the J30 or 240SX (with ABS) diff is the extra length at the snout of the diff, which houses the ABS sensor. This adds about 3/4 of an inch of length to the diff, but is usually not a problem, as your driveshaft and tranny mounts should have enough play to negate this extra length..."
