Cusco comp s fronts with custom springs, and tein ss r32 rear coilovers in the back. This set up works great, but I would love to find 2 rear cusco's sometime.

Another Tein HE owner here. They're a tad bit undervalved, but they work fine. I've been to several drift events with them and they've held up extremely well.

any of you guys got the buddy clubs, I hear those are pretty good. Are those the inverse ones? or is it a different one?

im in the same boat as you justin :)

i think imma either go with HE's D2's or KTS, since they are all around the same price. unless someone has some other recommendations? or comments about the coilovers listed..

He's great value, includes very adjustable ride hight front and back. Pillowballs that dont clunk.

(-) they squeek if you listen close. anything higher than 4 setting (16 way adjustable)

Im on Apex WS, 7.5k in front and 5k in rear, good for daily but horrible at the track, could be stiffer

Anyone on buddy clubs? im seriously considering those so if anyone is running them give some feedback please

Zeal function d's
9/6 spring rates
6 way adjustable
rear is full aluminum shock body
front is inverted.

They are a little pricey but comfortable on the street and great at the track.

I really enjoy my HE's

I am really happy with my tein he's.I ride with em all the way up on about 8 front an 10 rear on the street an the ride is comparable to tighter stock. Not bouncy, not overlly harsh on rolling bumpsr or sharp jolts. If I run canyons with the rear to stiff,it steps out on every turn, but thats a charataristic of the car,not the coilovers but does show that it does not give much under load.My rear do squek on bumps, but nothing at all annoying an I only noticed when my rear seat an trunk panels were :blah: removed.

anybody have gp sports gr-6's. i was looking at the specs they dont look bad. and theyre a lil different from the sets of HE's

08-11-2004, 02:19 PM
Running HE's here also. i run them 10 clicks up front 12 clicks in the rear. not bumpy in my mind. im used to race settings on a porscge GT1 cup car. saw those gp sports coilovers on bulletproof 12kg front 10kg rear. those are my kinda settings. strictly non DD and still have it on the street.

Kei Office XT-a 9/8 rates, 16 way adjustable inverted shock. I run them with no preload and on "2" for daily driving. Great on the track too!

I have K-Sport's 7/5... They are great I think. These are the first set of coilovers I have ever owed, so not much comparison. I don't hear any clunks when turning. The only rear complaint I have is they don't go low enough in the rear without comprimising shock travel. Other than that defenately worth my $770 with an extra set of 9kg for the track!

i had on my car the gp sports gr6 and they worked.. not stiff.. to me at least.. also had the silkroad rma8's... bascally anything we sell i've tested on my car just about.. =) in terms of suspension wise at least.. so gp sports or silkroad and Zeal both get thumbs up =)

I also have the ever so popular HEs. I'm on my third year with them, and I just noticed that one of the rear one's might have blown. (Came around a corner trail braking and felt some tire hop on accel)

hmm... no one has Apex N1s? I'd like to know how those are. I'm going to upgrade as soon as my wallet allows me to.

pruto
08-18-2004, 11:56 PM
yes, i have N1s, they are the shit, much higher quality shit than my usual doggy poo

love them, awesome on the streets, liveable even driving on the dreaded LA intercity paved-once-in-a-decade roads on 9k/7k springs. and just simply awesome on the track. Can even drive full stiff around town without having to replace my backbone.

For comparo. lets talk piston size. tien HEs are 38mm IRC, JICs are 42mm (again, off the top of my head) HKS is 46mm. and N1 pros are 52mm. (48mm for N1 type V)

problem with N1s is that stock is really low (or perhaps non-existant) and i've been told that they're not making anymore and Apex is coming out with a replacement line. Not sure how true that is, and i haven't checked stock since i got mine (in Feb) so i dunno for sure.

I just put on my SPL KTS coilovers yesterday. Compared to my TEIN/AGX setup, it can be waayyy stiffer. And I am running on 60 sidewall tires. It's 8k/6k with a 40mm inverted shock up front, and 49mm in the rear. I had an extra set of Cusco camber plates laying around my room and compared them to the KTS camber plates. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! :aw: The KTS ones are atleast twice as thick and look extremely beefy. I love them so far.

anyone know what if major differences between the N1 pro, and type V are?.. other than piston size? more aggressive valving?

As far as my experience, N1 Type Pro more stiff, N1 Type V more suitable for city driving. (These was to put on s14 before).

spring rates on the PRO's will be a little stiffer, but i don't know the exact rates and apexi usa usually doesn't know the rates either. if someone that has each of the coilover sets could read off the part #'s on the spring, they should be able to cross reference the spring rates on the instruction packet.

i had n1 pros on my integra and they rode perfect
