If the ultimate goal were to have a SR powered kouki S14... would it be cheaper to buy a high mileage zenki and get all jdm body parts for the conversion?... arent the jdm kouki headlights slighty different? wouldn't the zenki to kouki conversion would look nicer with all the jdm body parts versus a US kouki?
Considering that there are 8 kouki's within 300 miles of my zip versus 53 zenki's on autotrader (92802)
Your opinions please
thanks

jdm and usdm fenders and hood are the same, headlights are different. i would recomend getting usdm headlights due to the beam pattern.

ok beam pattern makes sense...
It should be cheaper going with the zenki and doin the conversion cause there are a lot of high mileage zenki's for less than $5000 on autotrader and since i found out its about $12OO for the conversion is still cheaper than a high mileage kouki

write-up I made: http://members.aol.com/GTspecR/write_convr.html
The JDM kouki has a different bumper and turn signals also. It would be best to get a Zenki...however just know your going to have to pay for paint...and make sure the body shop knows what they are doing....so the front end doesn't stick out too much (new paint vs. old paint).

thanks your write up was very informative... Im most likely going with the zenki just because its so much cheaper especially if its high mileage (since im gonna do a swap)
thanks

If you get an auto...the tranny swap is sooo much easier when you swap the motor and tranny at the same time. You just have to source out various parts (hardline..pedals...etc.).

i did a zenki---->kouki conversion on my s14. and I paid over 3,000 all brand new parts from the dealer. (online) and I'm still missing various brackets, and windshield squirters...blah blah. so if you did it for 1200 good job.
