I was just wondering because I had a couple questions, Ive never installed an fmic before and I know the common answer is its easy jsut line the pipes up, Yah Ive pretty much got that idea, but I have a pipe that pretty much fits the hot side of the ic and goes up into the hole wehre the airbox was, and even has a bracket taht has a hole that lines up perfect for mounting, my question is, how come it has a nipple, about 1" coming out the side, If mounted like this, the nipple is like way up in there where the resonator box was and seems like if it was meant something, should be more up by the engine, You cant even access it from engine bay, you have to get up under the car, also if anybody had any instructions for arc fmic that would be cool, I know I could figure it out myself but directions make it easier.

try a expandable freeze plug. they are cheap and autozone has them.
Sounds like a nipple for a wastegate.

no it's definitely not for a wastegate and iirc bov are on the cold side of the intercooler... i don't have turbo nor do i know much of anything about them but i think that's correct...a wastegate controls the flow of air into the turbo so why would it come after the turbo....it doesn't make sense. my two cents.. can't help you with the nipple though

hmm ill just try the autozone thing or weld it, and as far as the bov, Im purchasing a hot pipe, with the flange and bov already on it, so yah some people have their bov on cold pipe that ive seen and most that ive seen are on hot though.

It was on the hot side of my vspl....
My bov is on the hotside of the intercooler. HKS piping too. hot side, cold side, it doesnt mather. some have said you get a better responds on the cold side. IIRC. s13 sr, bov is on hot side. s14 and s15, bov are on cold side. hehe
I didnt say it was a wastegate. I said it's a vacum line to the wastegate. Unless there's already a line for the wastegate. This is also called a source line, air line, etc.

I kinda figured afterward that you had to be talkin bout a line, problem is ive never seen a vacuum line that is 1" in diameter. Im guessing that it is for the stock bov. but im just going to plug it.
