Hi all. Well Im still having the same problem with my rb25 s1 s14

At 7 psi it feels so dam slow.
I have to run fully advanced timing just so it could run ok.
If I try running at 15 degrees it just runs so poorly.

At 15 degrees it revs up really slow aswell

Ive checked.
Timing belt.
Boost leaks
Maf

At 7 psi I cant even keep up with my buddys 350z
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

When i first swapped my ecu wasnt screwed / plugged in all the way and it was slow as shit

Yea I even swapped ecu's
My car runs worse with a stock rb25 s1 ecu.

Right now im running an rb20 flashed ecu.
Idk what else to do

Weak Coil packs or too large a gap on the plugs

Plugs gapped to .27
I was thinking maybe coil packs.
At stock boost I swear a stock ka can keep up with me.
Its ridiculously slow.
So what I did is advance the timing all the way and turn up the boost to 12 psi.
It runs ok. But not how I thought an rb25 should be.
My buddys stock 1jz s13 barely pulls from me and im running 13 pounds.

My main concern is why I must advance the timing to maximum in order for it to run ok
And with a stock ecu it starts misfiring at idle lile crazy to where my check engine light goes ham

Is it an auto based rom? the Auto based RB20 roms need base timing set to 20deg. I would worry that maybe the CAS is going bad and that's the results of your poor performance.

Hmm ill have to try another cas.
All I know is that its an auto rb20 ecu lol

Hope it works.
The only things I was thinking of were the knock sensors cas or mis adjusted timing belt

As for coils, I guess ill buy some split fire.
Ill try another cas and keep you guys updated!

Did you check the ecu for codes? hopefully the led is still working on it and you can just turn the screw to see if any codes are been tossed at you.

Yes I have checked for codes. Nothing came up. I thought maybe it was still in check mode but no.
Still looking for a cas to test. Im going to set timing back to 15 or 20 and see if the computer retards the timing when revving

The timing is my guess. Do you have a stock MAF? Actually is the entire swap stock? Stock Manifold?

I would double and tripple check the timing. RB's are super sensitive to timing being off. Also check for vacuum leaks especially around the injector donuts.

Im using maxima maf.
Entire swap is stock with the exception of
Freddy intake
Fmic
Manual Boost controller
Ive checked the belt multiple times.
At 15* timing if I try to boost more than stock it detonates like a mofo lol
Ive checked for vacuum leaks and boost leaks however I dont think that would cause
My engine to run moderate at maxed advanced timing.

Like at stock timing it drives smooth with no hickups or anything, but real sluggish poor performance

My initial guess was the timing belt

That MAFS might be your issue then (Or one of them). If thats not a J60 MAFS then its wrong.
