In for details on the turbo:
Mileage you have put on it?
Does it come with the lines and hardware?
Also, when you get a chance, pictures?

Will you verify something for me, that the ignition timing was set to 15-18* BTDC (during boost) which caused the rod bearing failure?
I have a theory that the OEM bottom end spins the rod bearings when timing is set to 15+ during 10+psi of boost
*edit: ah I just noticed the SAFC. Is this your "fuel management" ? In which case, yes, your timing was too far advanced for sure.
I am compiling evidence that timing is ruining the rod bearings, which otherwise, would not generally be a weak point in the bottom end.

Don't tuned engines run even more timing than 18* btdc? Especially when running high octane / e85 etc. fuel?

Car was tuned years ago. Was tdc and ran fine. Still haven't had time to pull motor to officially see what went bad.
