hey zilvia. me and buddy are looking for a little help on finishing up his rb swap in his s13 and ran into some weird problems after wiring it up. no connectors have been cut, besides the body harness for the previous owner doing an sr swap. we are also in the middle of a fuse box tuck.
what we are working with rb25det series 2 full swap with a WS rb s1/s2 engine harness, his car had an sr WS lower harness on it, so we plugged everything in from the WS engine harness to the rb and the lower harness to the fuse boxes three plugs two grey and one square looking black two pin one on the passenger side box, plugged the 91 DOHC "brown plug" and the two main harness to body harness plugs in, grounded everything except the little ground strap from the head to the fire wall, but ive seen cars run without that. anyway we ended up with everything we wanted to work, like all the lights and gauge cluster lights, so we figure hell yeah that was easy thanks WS. next we figured lets see if it will try and crank  did a bunch of nothing, but we did hear the fuel pump kick on and the starter hammer engage, checked the alt wiring, but no crank, strangely when the key is in acc the cabin sounds like a tesla coil minus the arcing lol :rant2:
ive been looking around, but i would like some input from people who have done this using yuries harness and hopefully tell lead us in the right direction. now idk about you guys, but we arent balling out the game enough to cut up a $400 harness. like i stated before nothing was cut to do the fuse box tuck, but while reading through one of the best write-ups i came across from http://media.sxoc.com/contributors/s13faq/RB25-S13_Jan_10.pdf, now scrolling down through page i came across the white SOHC, brown DOHC plug pinout and the two main harness plug pinouts. then it leads me to the rb/WS(in our case the s1/s2 ecu bulkhead plug) pinout, then proceeds to talk about splicing in wires from the body harness female end of the plug to the mating wire on the ecu bulkhead is what i got out of it, please guys correct me if im wrong. can this be one of our problems? any help would be awesome. sorry for writing a book, but thats everything off the top of my head.
