Well a much anticipated event occured tonight, for months my buddy and I have been jokingly trashtalking a bit to each other about a future race between our cars. Well after finishing up with some new mods and repairing a few things on my car together, he pointed at his '92 Mustang 5.0 and smiled <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
So I said sure I would follow him up to the light, we got into our cars and headed off.
On the first run I launched at 3k and gripped, but slipped alot and just couldnt keep the tires pushing, I lost alot of time and he took me through second gear and then had me beat bad.
At the next light, I launched at 2500rpm, a little lower to try to pick up more traction and less slip, I actually think I launched better the first time, so he had me beat by a pretty long shot, enough to pull into my lane ahead of me by 4th gear.

It wasnt much of surprise to either of us, his car is stock but mine is modded a bit, his car isnt in the best of shape with one missing exhaust and no 4th gear, plus his car is an automatic, mine is stick. I thought I could give him a pretty good run. All things considered, displacement, cylinders, torque, and horsepower, I think I gave the 240sx a pretty good showing.
I think I could have done better if my tires werent crap, less spinning would have helped alot.

We both had alot of fun though, thats for sure <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
Ill try again in a month or so when Ive done my ignition and exhaust. If he doesnt get moving on his repairs and mods soon, I think Ill have him in a few months after I go turbo. Further updates in the not-to-distant future.

<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> Consider the fact that his engine is twice as big as yours and less/no exhaust on muscle cars is a GOOD THING. WE need back-pressure. They don't. So I think it's a fair win. But please, get the turbo and beat his ass, I like to hear the 4-cyl win stories against V-8s. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
