Recently picked up an RB26 and am now looking for a shop to install an extended crank collar that has done them before. Raw brokerage does not do the service anymore unless they do an engine build (spoke to them today). Can anybody on here recommend some machine shops

What?? I was ready to send my crack to raw brokerage.
Any info on how to install the collar will be helpfull to ask my local machine shop if they can do it. Thanks

Yea I was ready too. And from what little info I've found on my many google searches some places remove the old collar somehow, I forget. Then they either heat the new one up an slide it on an use a set screw which idk if I'd trust. Or they weld it on. Gonna b looking around a lot more today to try an find something

Any machinest should know what needs to be done. Some just don't trust themselves and don't want to be paying for a expensive ass crank.
Measure inside of crank collar.
Machine crank snout to fit crank collar, with some tolerance between the two for a snug fit
Heat crank collar and press onto crank snout.

Heres the instructions for the JUN crank collar install. Not sure if itll be any help to an American machinist

Any machine shop with a crank grinder should be able to perform the install. I was quoted $100 to machine the crank and install the collar.
My machinist repeatedly questioned my faith in the extended crank collar setscrews. For those who've already done their crank collars; did you drill small holes in the crankshaft for the setscrews to lock into, or did you simply tighten down the two setscrews and pray they don't slip at 7K rpms?

That's a really good point, what I understand from the JUN collar instruction that drill/tread in the crank is part of the installation

that sucks! that Raw brokerage don't do it any more! i guess i got lucky and got mines done before they cancel that service! and it was mad cheap too!
but like many people here mentioned any machine shop should be able to install the crank collar. just physically take your crank and collar to them so they can see it in person.
Some shops wont quote you or say they can do it unless you bring them the part.
edited: now that i think about it, Raw brokerage never did the service themselves, they used an outside shop to install the collar. maybe you can get them to tell you the name of the shop and call them to see if they would do you the favor.
maybe it was not enough profit for Raw to send the crank to the shop and the amount they were charging to cover the cost and have good profit. But they did an awesome job on mines!

I am a machinist. Not an engine builder but a machinist. I could do this. So I'd imagine any engine shop that knows what they are doing could as well. And yes from the posted print from JUN those set screws screw all the way into the crank. For those of you that don't know how to read a print the set screws almost (but don't) break into the threads for crank bolt
And it is two m5x.08 set screws 180 degrees apart
If you didn't trust the set screws (which I would because they are threaded into the crank and lock tight would hold them) you could always get crazy fancy and make a key and key way like what holds the crank pulley in position but I'm not too sure how much material you have on the collar so I'd stick with the set screws. Or welding

Any machinist or engine builder should be able to take care of it for you without issue. The pic MR GUTTI posted is installation instructions for the raw brokerage crank snout, installation process should be the same with any crank collar, but the size the snout needs to be machined down to may be different with another brand crank collar. You will have the factory oil drive machined off, then the crank collar is super heated so that it will expand, and pressed onto the newly machined snout of the crank. Once it cools the metal will contract and fit the crank so tightly it won't move. The set screws are there for good measure, I've had a crank collar installed on my last rb26 and I can assure you it's never coming off even without the set screws. You couldn't physically remove it without machining it off again
