I think it's 180hp and just as much torque with the aforementioned tuned suspension and in that very affordable price range...sounds like a pretty nice package.
My boyfriend just bought a '91 SE-R to drive during winter, and I had it for a day or so because my 240 was getting fixed. THAT CAR IS FAST. It's so light! The clutch and gas pressure is totally different (needless to say), so it took some getting used to. I felt a little relieved when I got back in the 240 . Still may be a good car. I'd like a WRX STI a little more

Who wouldn't? It's a class (maybe two) above the SE-R. I would love to have a WRX...but I'd love even more to have a BMW M3.....mmmmmmm....M3.....yummy.
i'd rather get a wrx and mod it with the money i saved not getting an m3 .. whats the price range diff?. With a small amount of cash, u can make those wrx's REALllly fly. Wow,,, i don't like 4 doors much, so if i was REALLy going to do it. I'd get a 99 RS and turbo it etc etc... aaahhh dreaming is fun.
175
[email protected], 180 torque, helical limited slip, 17's, 9 speaker rockford fosgate optional stereo, optional abs, dats as much as i know right now, and the 6 speed, highly tuned suspension, some dope colors, im hoping they have the graphite black, otherwise yellow, or final choice blue. the v-spec suspension will be somewhere about 17 % and 18 % stiffer than the stock S-ER !! and the SE-R is no push over either, but i dunt care about it i WANT the Spec-V as they are now calling it, its SWEET! it's gonna also have sport seats, and a standard interior on all the Spec-V's that has red inserts all on tha seats n stuff, im so souped one more month. then if i can get 8 for my car im set, is worth 8245 and ive got about 3 k work into it, but i think i'll take the system out, we'll see

It's just a thing I have about the M3. You start out with over 100 more hp...and I believe they make a supercharger for them. You get the luxury and sleek styling of BMW with a lot of power, all with the ability to haul around 4 or 5 people in comfort...and all for about $50K. It's a goal I feel I'll be working towards for quite some kind....but I will own one.;)

240SX vs. the new Nissan Sentra...
Sentra is a FF. 240SX FR. that is already a big difference.
The sentra might be faster stock, but the money you save by getting a 98' 240SX could be put into the 240SX to make it alot faster.
not relaly a 97-98 will cost u bout 15000? and the sentra is about 18-21, if u finance im sure u can get just about the same monthly payments i plan on selling m y car so that i can put down a big down payment, like maybe 8000 then pay the rest of the 13000 off in payments
I kinda fell in love with a WRX (thinking Turbo AWD) so as someone said, I'd probably save the extra money, get performance products. It's not hard at all.

I bought my 97' 240SX last year at a dealer for $14,000.
u guys got good deals and thats kewl, but my point is that the Sentra is a good price with all that it comes with so its a value in itself

But it's a Sentra. Yeah, it's a nice car at a nice price. My roommate's girlfriend picked one up awhile back, and as much as I might like it, it still isn't a 240. It gets her around, and it's probably a lot of fun, yeah, yeah, but it lacks character. It's just a car.
The 240, on the other hand, well - look around - it's the kind of car people can be passionate about.

I'd get the SpecV SE-R, 6spd and helical slip, macpherson struts, buckets, blah blah... Nicer package i think. for the price, i'd choose this over the RSX TypeS anyday.
It's engine is a 2.0L(i think) aluminum block 4banger w/ VTC(not sure if the base has VTC??)
the interior is sweeeeeeeet. The bucket seats(does the base have this option? likely rite?) are from a model of the skyline GTS-something or other i think.
Red against black, has sweet sound system in it apparently-- too nice. the 4 doors are nice for it too i think.
luvly beast.
I'd luv to test drive one of these.

My sister has a 1996 200sx se-r and I took it outfor a little spin one day, and I have to say those little things are pretty quick. Still nothing could replace my 240....well I would like that new M3 with the bad-ass new teel color....saw some guy yesterday driving the afformentioned teel one with white leather and the top down while driving in the rain.......STUPID-ASS!!!

That little se-r will turn some heads. But imagine converting that whole fwd to awd, mayby drop in a turbo, man some WRX's would be begging for mercey.
180 hp(I think that right) is a nice little starting point for any tuner.
175 horsepower is the final number
